Maybe he's been told if he wants a move he has to show more interest once the transfer window opens? The situation gets more and more bizarre

The cynic in me says a buying / loan team wants to see that he still exists before committing and this was SP only choice to display him, as there is too much at risk in a league game.
He is obviously a decent player but like a lot of players , they think the world revolves around them.⁰
I hope I'm wrong, but I would be amazed if we see him again.

Re: Tresor
The way Parker talked at Sunderland away about players wanting moves and players playing want to be at the club, would seem strange to allow a player to play just to get his move away, the only definite answer we will get will be which club Tresor is at come the end of the windowNonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:36 pmThe cynic in me says a buying / loan team wants to see that he still exists before committing and this was SP only choice to display him, as there is too much at risk in a league game.

Re: Tresor
This has all the makings of a Greek tragedy . A clearly talented player , miles ahead of what we've got in terms of football intelligence and creativity , who would almost guarantee getting us over the line in the race for automatic promotion if he was to play each week.
Unfortunately for whatever reason he has even less energy than Keith Treacy had and it's doubtful we will benefit from all the ability he showed on the ball when he came on.

You can see he is a class player, did well today. I just hope he stays, applies himself and gets match fit.

Well, if could be fitness but if so he's the most unfit player I've ever seen. He was only on for 10 mins, didn't run very much and then was bent over with his hands on his legs, unmoving. Clearly talented though.

Imagine if we are in the top 2 with 15 games to go. A lot of home games will be tight. Then we bring on Tresor and Benson for the last 25 mins

Definitely showed some talent in his brief cameo.
He’s played about ten mins in the last year so perhaps he was easing into it.

Re: Tresor
There are plenty of ifs and buts in this. If he had malaria, as was rumoured, that can cause organ damage, so can be very tricky to come back to full fitness from. If he had Covid over Christmas (“reported ill” said Parker), that again can make energy tricky. Wanting to leave doesn’t really equate to being doubled over gasping for breath.
It is Pace’s comments at the forum that suggest attitude, likely one where a player says he is struggling but the coaches don’t fully agree. We can all name players like that for many teams.
The missing thing has been honesty (from anyone) and a full explanation.
I’ll judge on February 1st, but I expect him gone. If here I’ll cheer him on fully.

Re: Tresor
I’m not getting this lack of fitness, we’ve gone 3-1, the instructions (quite rightly) are to play at a pedestrian pace.
From today he has shown that he has the ability to create something in the final third from the bench. Some seem to question his fitness or lack of defensive capabilities/commitment. If we are struggling at home against the low block he wouldn’t need to defend however offers creativity in the final third something that we lack at home.
The way that some UTC posters go on about Mike you’d think they’d actually lost their own money paying his wages.

Bang on the money. Defo had that composure about him in those clinical moments that both Koleosho and Anthony struggle with. Like someone else mentioned, he was down on his haunches a few times and his body language is horrific. Without shadow of a doubt something doesn't quite marry up.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 5:59 pmI thought he was excellent and everything we have been missing in the final 3rd this season. Ball control, pace, awareness - he has the lot. His assist for the second goal may have looked simple but how many times have we said that some of our other players lack an end product? It was there with this goal. Tresor’s speed and awareness along with Flemming’s movement was just too good for them. End product.
It just comes down to his attitude and whether he wants to play for Burnley. He could potentially be a massive player for us for the last 5 months.

Re: Tresor
Massive influence when he came on but something isn't right with him.
Physical or mental I don't know but a professional footballer looking knackered like he did is nothing to do with match sharpness. A good basic level of fitness seemed to be absent.

Re: Tresor
Ability wise he’s head and shoulders over anyone winger we have. The little movement and how he slowed then sped things up is premier league class. Really hope he stays and stars for us
Re: Tresor
That sums it for me too. He showed real class, but there is a big 'but'
This cameo will not have done him or us any harm, it is a plus today

Can we save two subs to take them back off again if we go in front? Two absolute liabilities going the other way and not to be relied upon.
Can you imagine playing them both in the premier league?

Why don't everybody lay off the bloke until we really know what has been going on with his situation instead of guessing.

I’m wondering where this “miles ahead of what we’ve got” has come from? He hasn’t shown it playing for us at any time, so presumably you’ve watched a lot of football in the Belgian league?Elizabeth wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:40 pmThis has all the makings of a Greek tragedy . Don’t get me wrong, I’d really love him to show up, play some great football and get us over the line - and it seems he’s made a start against a league one team today, but he’s not done anywhere near enough for anyone to be claiming he’s the messiah…

Re: Tresor
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, he (Tresor) looked great today IMO, but as the saying goes, 1 swallow does not make a Summer!
Let’s see if he’s anywhere near the first team over the next few weeks before making any judgment's.

Brilliant moments followed by a strange demonstration of fatigue after only a short time on the pitch.
I honestly have no idea what the situation is, in fact I am more confused now than before he played.
I genuinely hope it is just a fitness issue and not agent/contract shenanigans.

Re: Tresor
Not sure if anyone was at last seasons Pre-Season game at KRC Genk but he was electric that night, and I was genuinely excited when we signed him, even though he was the 10th winger we had signed! I still have faint hope that this could turn out positive for us and for him
Re: Tresor
Well, in fairness, the camera does have a tendency to focus on where the ball is, so I guess you are right in saying it’s harder to look at the whole pitch from the TV?!?!

Just watching the highlights and didn't celebrate our third goal at all.
Re: Tresor
Decent cameo, provided we use the context of the standard of opposition and stage of the game.
I think the ship has sailed on Tresor having any meaningful role to play at the club. And this appearance smacks of being a bit forced. A face saving exercise to give the club a bit of agency with regards his next move.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a loan move. Think a lot of clubs will be cautious given his saga at Burnley.

Re: Tresor
I think he showed a level of creativity that hadn't been seen in our team all season.
He also showed that his fitness has been a major issue, he looked so tired after 20 minutes of football, he is clearly still recovering from something pretty serious.
I am delighted to see him back, if we can continue to see cameos from him over the next few weeks, I'll be more than happy.
Ramsey next...

Re: Tresor
He won the match for us!
I thought he was excellent. 2 assists?
Passed and crossed with purpose. When there was no chance of getting the ball, he didn't run. I think he has exceptional awareness and doesn't waste energy. He was definitely a cut above the rest.

His 'effort' was finding clever pockets of space, and when he got the ball, he served up two perfect assists for Zian Flemming that sealed the win for the Clarets.
Perhaps you'd have preferred Ian Moore out there?

Re: Tresor
It’s a bit odd that some people are giving Tresor more stick tonight (and after two assists) than they would have given him if he’d not played at all.
It feels like he’s reached the point where he can’t win amongst some elements of our fanbase.
