Tyson Fury

Post by ElectroClaret » Mon Jan 13, 2025 5:00 pm

Announced his retirement from boxing.
Think he's done that before and come back.

"Cheers guys, it's been a blast."

In the same announcement, he’s still ranting and raving about “ being robbed “ in BOTH Usyk fights  Utterly delusional, from a fighter who was generally very realistic where other fighters were concerned . Had a great career but good time to bow out .

I wouldn't bank on it.... someone sticks a crate of cash under his nose and he'll have his gloves back on before you can sign up to Sky Box Office.

Token retirement before Saudi put a bag on the table for the AJ fight. Sells the storyline even more saying he’s ’coming out of retirement’

AJ announced last Friday that negotiations for the heavyweight clash were well under way so the perfect time for Fury to announce his retirement and drum up some more interest and no doubt several more millions.

Surely nobody believes he’s avoiding AJ.

He could make another 50 million for a very easy nights work

Tyson Fury certainly isn't avoiding a fight with Anthony Joshua. He is much superior boxer.

Regardless of what some people say about him, he has been a heavyweight champion of the World which is an incredible achievement.

To fight and beat Wilder in the manner he did, takes tremendous skill and courage.

If he has to come back, maybe he could just pulp one of those podcast celebrity people, or Andrew tait or something. Cause some serious injury and get boxing banned from UK TV.

Tyson Fury does suffer from mental health issues so I wouldn't read to much into it, he may well just be going through one of his spells of depression. Love him or hate him he got people talking about the sport.

Retirements are only newsworthy when it's a batsman.

Boxer 'retirements' are worthless.

I agree. The fights against Wilder saved the heavyweight division. They were old school fights in which both men left everything in the ring. To belittle TF just makes people look silly.

How we English love to knock down our successful sports people. No pun intended.
To be a top level boxer you generally need a bit of self confidence and arrogance.
