Why are our players consling the penalty loser?

They should be telling him what a bum he is. What a pathetic failure he is He's a disgrace. He should be donating this week's wage to the local hospice.

Disgraceful
Its a game son chill out. He didn't give the pen against us

Because they probably know the impact something like that can have on a players mental health, especially with having Foster in our team. He'll be crucified on Sunderland message boards and social media.
I personally think that was class from our players to do that

I literally can't believe what I've just seen from this ref.

Outrageous.

1st time I've ever genuinely suspected a referee of cheating.
I don’t think he’s smart enough to cheat.

Maybe our players should be thinking about their own performance instead of consoling a 2x loser

Disappointing display, 2nd best tonight but take a point no thanks to the dreadful ref and move on. Lack of goals an ongoing concern.

Distribution was a bit shaky at times tonight, but if you save two penalties at the death to earn your team a point, you deserve nothing less than a ten.

Take a bow, James Trafford.

Thought we were the better team first half, they were the better team second half. Apart from the three awful decisions- not to award us a penalty and the two for them there wasn't much in it. Terrible ref absolutely ruined the game.

Decent point, it's a shame we don't get to see us play like we did in the first 20 across a full 90.

OK he can be unsteady sometimes with pressure on him - but he's the best goalkeeper in this league, and better than most in the prem

VAR would have allowed the second penalty by way of 'on field decision stands' because there was contact, such as it was.

As a club we know only too well how mental health can hurt a player, it's not about perspective. You only need to look at this message board and social media when in the premier league. Trafford was crucified week in week out. Koleosho has gone through similar this season. Sometimes it's not about perspective, it's about being a decent human being

BTW in amateur sport, I totally would console the opposing player there, but in pro football, especially in a high stakes game such as this top of the table clash, people's livelihoods/the clubs future is on the line here.

Unless Alan Pace or Parker can come up with a player(s) to provide us with more of a goal threat then it looks as though one of the automatic promotion places will prove to be beyond us. 2 more points dropped at home which could well prove decisive come May.

I'm not trying to sound good nor am I trying to trivialise mental health, and it's "you aren't helping anyone" by the way, not no one.

I just can't understand why anyone, when seeing someone is upset and suffering from something he's done, think it's a good idea to compound the issue.
The fact the Sky pundits said it was a classy thing to do I think shows how most people involved in the game feel about it, other than a minority of Burnley fans.

Our second half performance was poor tonight, we went back to giving the ball away and not winning any second balls. They dominated the midfield in the second half with Laurent and Brownhill looking very weak. I thought Trafford was having a poor game and then he does that in the last few minutes, hard to believe.
The referee? If he is allowed to ref another game soon then the world has gone mad.

Really? We were marginally better in the first half, but lucky to come away with a point not withstanding the two penalty's given with the second half display. Didn't do enough tonight.

I thought first half was one of our best starts. Moved it nicely, got down the wings well but didn't create anything too clear cut.

Flemming should have had a pen. Really liked Foster off the left.

Thought second pen was rash challenge and we'd have wanted one if we were on receiving end.

Overall good point, you need these things to go for you at the end of the season

Really? We were marginally better in the first half, but lucky to come away with a point not withstanding the two penalty's given with the second half display. Didn't do enough tonight.
I thought we were the better team in the first half, I thought they were the better team in the second.

I don't think either team did enough to win it aside from the ridiculous referee decisions.

Personally think what we showed in the first 20 was better than anything that came after it but Sunderland are obviously a good team.

Pretty sure they were booing the ref.
Nope, mixed in with shouts of 'get a f****** move on Trafford'. People definitely booing that he wasn't moving the ball fast enough.

If we'd have played 90 minutes like we played the opening 20 mins we'd have had it wrapped up at half time.

As it was, we reverted to type after that and then it was the same turgid stuff that we've become accustomed to at home and resulted in numerous occasions where you could hear the players talking to each other which is never a great sign.

It was a really poor game of football I thought in terms of quality on the ball and decision making, both sides, and when you chuck in the disasterclass the ref put in then it was a bad advert for the Championship.

Both sides look to be missing something that will give them the edge to claim an automatic, though the more I watch us the more I'm convinced it's not going to a single player that will give us that. The system is geared to protect the defense and anyone new will have the same instructions.

Everyone from Cullen back was first class once again mind.
