Hypothetical Question
Last game of the season at home to Millwall, we need 3pts to get automatic promotion and if we keep a clean sheet we get the record for fewest goals conceded in an English season.
Would you rather get a 0-0 draw and set a defensive record but face the lottery of the playoffs or would you rather win 3-2 to clinch automatic promotion and miss out on the defensive record?
No brainer for me as Id rather us go up but I know a lot of our fans value a great defence over attacking flair so they might really want to get that record

Re: Hypothetical Question
I’d prefer us to lose 0-3 so we get neither….. obviously!

Re: Hypothetical Question
Can't imagine one single fan would want a record of any description over automatic promotion .

Get promoted, get some more money, spend it better.

Re: Hypothetical Question
Stuff the play-offs. A lottery.
Takes 3 weeks off the players Summer. The club management can’t get organised until they know which division they’ll be in.

Re: Hypothetical Question
I'd go for our usual one nil win, and get everything.

Re: Hypothetical Question
0-0 and play offs. Would allow us potentially 3 more games to improve the defensive record whilst still retaining a good chance of promotion.
Re: Hypothetical Question
What B****cks straight promotion every time why would you want to extend a season by 3wks if you could ask the players I’m sure we all what the answer would be. Also the team that goes up through the playoffs is always playing catchup because of the uncertainty of not knowing which league you will be playing in

Re: Hypothetical Question
Your last game is against Plymouth, not Millwall.
Re: Hypothetical Question
Win the Championship and stay in it next season would do for me.

How do people still think D_A is being serious with these posts? They’ve been doing it for years.

Re: Hypothetical Question
Now, if it was a guarantee to meet Rovers in the play offs then I would probably take that.
We need big football events at the club.

Re: Hypothetical Question
Obviously the win and promotion guaranteed
But at HT last night I did think I'd rather take the 5-0 than say a 10-1. The longer it goes on, the more I get the feeling that every player is doing their absolute utmost to stem every opposing attack and chance. And I think this is paying dividends, especially with the difficult run over the last few weeks (played /playing 5th, 21st, 12th, 8th, 2nd, 5th, 19th, 6th, 4th, 24th, 1st). The defensive record is phenomenal and the team should be incredibly proud.
But if we don't go up on GD, then it's all for nothing. Records like this are only worthwhile if the primary goal is not sacrificed in return

Re: Hypothetical Question
I have one, if we don’t go up this season would you rather get promoted next season or the club get liquidated?
