I can 100% guarantee Humphries will be in for Pires.
Parker doesnt trust Pires defensively against the better teams

Humphrey’s in for Pires for me.
Apart from that think the team stays the same.

Re: Team v Leeds ?
All depends on how much we want to wind Leeds up.
Hannibal is the man for that.
For me, Humphreys for Pires is the only required change.
Stop Dan James and we win the game.

Will Hannibal come in for Laurent for the extra energy?
Humphrey will come in at left back.

Re: Team v Leeds ?
I wouldn't pick Hannibal (at least not to start). After his antics at Elland Road I think Leeds will target him, especially as they know he's got a very short fuse!

Re: Team v Leeds ?
Humphreys should come back in at LB, no doubt about in my mind and I'm almost certain Scott Parker will agree.
The only other slot up for debate is who plays in front of Humphreys, Hannibal or Foster. Hannibal will make sure the middle of the park is secure and that excellent performance at Bramall Lane on Boxing Day was in large part thanks to his efforts on the left, but his temperament remains questionable. Foster will provide more of a threat to the Leeds defence if he's on his game. I'd stick with Foster.

Excellent front 4.
The bench will be interesting.
Hopefully we can squeeze JJ Shelvey on there.

Bit radical and left field...but Hannibal for Foster for first 45. He will get a yellow but I reckon with his shithousery
he could get at least 3 Leeds players on yellows for the 2nd half.

Re: Team v Leeds ?
The OP FC Burnley has got in nailed. Anyone suggesting Pires starts instead of Humphreys is a very poor judge of the defensive requirements of a full back. Furthermore to risk Pires v the attack minded Leeds would be suicidal

Same team as the OP.
Really liking the look of our front 3 now - each offer something different.

As per OP.
Hannibal looked a wee bit off it to me at Plymouth.

I think Shelvey will be on the bench. He has history with Leeds.
If he isn't in the squad, he'll definitely be in the dressing room.

Hannibal should be nowhere near this game. He winds himself up more than anyone. We need cool clam heads for this one.wadeswondergoal wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 6:25 pmAll depends on how much we want to wind Leeds up.

The only option is foster or Hannibal, whoever is selected gives you an idea on parkers tactics.

Foster every day of the year. We are a different team with him fit and playing. Looking forward to him getting us up the pitch fast and heading back post crosses back into the danger area, as at Plymouth.

Re: Team v Leeds ?
As much as I don't want to offer them a compliment.... Leeds are much more than just Dan James. Solomon is a super player and is really going to test Roberts. On the break, if Roberts is up the pitch, then I can't see Cullen getting hold of him. Laurent will offer some sort of cover, but it'll be tricky. I would hope CJ and Esteve can manage Piroe, but he looks so good in the box, that they really will have to be at the top of their game tonight.
I think it'll be intriguing. I'm tempted to say we should play it like an away game against a top team. Camp in, invite them on, and hit them on the break, utilising Foster's pace. Not a game I expect much out of if we go a goal down unfortunately
Re: Team v Leeds ?
They need to be worried about us - not the other way around !
Re: Team v Leeds ?
There is a song by Sum41 which I think encapsulates my feelings perfectly.
The song is called. "Grab the devil by the horns and **** him up the ***".
In that I'd like to see us impose ourselves on them. Starting both Hannibal and Humphries to me is effectively signalling attack v defense for 90 mins and seeing id we can nick one. Humph is the right choice at LB but I do think we have more threat with Lyle and with his pace and running power they may need to think a bit about pushing Gnonto and James too far up the pitch.
We can't rely on Leeds dropping points, we should do what we can. So yeah, Grab that devil.

Re: Team v Leeds ?
Leeds haven’t played a top 4 side since October so I am less inclined to worry about their wingers and more inclined to impose our own game - I would thus go same again bar Humphreys for Pires, Foster staying in the side.
I would also put Magic Mike on the bench because if it goes to pot and in the last 5-10 we need an equaliser, who will create a chance from nowhere while they are parking the bus?
Yes I know.

I wouldn't let Magic Mike on the pitch tonight, it might mean we'll get less off Leeds at the end of the month.
