The team picked against Leeds won’t give us an answers, Tresor not being in the squad against Leeds doesn’t give us any answers it’s no chance to the rest of the season so farbillyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 5:36 pmCould be that Benson and Redmond are closing in on a comeback and/or that Tresor is up to speed and staying?
The next few days will give some answers, including the team picked against DL.

Yeah they do, we have 1 current spot in the 25 man squad if we are keeping Beyer out the squad.
Barnes, Shelvey and Sonne have replaced Ekdal, Massengo and hountonji.
We still have Delcroixs spot to replace and you’d imagine if needed we would replace sambo to

Alan Pace did say in December we wouldn’t be spending much. I think he’s stuck to that.

I think the fact we had a 7m bid accepted suggests there is a lot there to play with.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 7:24 pmAlan Pace did say in December we wouldn’t be spending much. I think he’s stuck to that.
Think it will more depend on if the right player comes along.

Very much so. I’m really shocked to be honest, I thought we’d be more active but the complete lack of links would suggest we’ve eitherTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 7:24 pmAlan Pace did say in December we wouldn’t be spending much. I think he’s stuck to that.
He also said that we wouldn’t be selling but the worrying thing for me is that Parker keeps saying players might leave and I can’t imagine he’s referring to fringe players when he says that.
Although I think the majority of the defensive exploits has been the structure/style, selling players now would be so stupid.
I’ll be happy if the window closes with no further incomings or outgoings.

I read it as exactly that, fringe players will be leaving, and has been proven as we have trimmed the squad accordingly.

Do we not think some of it is Parker's doing. He again referenced the squad still being quite big in his Leeds press conference.
I think he wants a tighter squad so will only spend where necessary or some real quality becomes available.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Good heavens, apologies, when I predicted the squad list size on the last page I didn't realise the rules were so complex, with some of our 22 year olds left off it and Humphreys on it because he is on loan. They don’t make it easy, the EFL and EPL.
Anyway, so I suppose the conclusion is we have no pressure on the squad list and can pretty much sign a few players if we wish.

I’d say from the left but he’s more than capable anywhere in the front line.

I dint know whether there's any money available or not although I’m of the opinion that Pace and Co will back Parker as much as they can. I still think we’ll see something happen.

Bit harsh, he's had a serious knee injury and whilst making the bench a few weeks back sustained an injury set back.

So it’s ok to call Tresor but not Redmonds ,I can’t think of any useful contribution he made before he was injured.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Sources closely connected to Bristol City tell me that the club had received enquiries from Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City as to the possibility of taking striker Fally Mayulu on loan.
Apparently he's now moved to Sturm something or other in Europe.
At least some ambition being shown by our beloved neighbours.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
And is this Mayulu guy any better than what we have? Going to an Austrian unknown club and linked to the two clubs you mentioned makes him far from what we should be looking for.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Hardly his fault that he signs for us and then hardly gets a kick. Why did VK sign a player of his quality and experience of playing in the Premier League and then not play him ?Stonehouse wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 8:53 amSo it’s ok to call Tresor but not Redmonds ,I can’t think of any useful contribution he made before he was injured.
Nothing in his career to suggest he just came to Burnley to sit on his arse.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I personally dont think its ok to call Tresor. There's a lot of abuse towards him on here when we really dont know any of the facts. In Redmonds case, he did exactly as Kompany asked of him pre injury and its clear on Mission to Burnley that, when he was playing, he was one of the biggest voices in the dressing room. We also all know about his injury because he posted about it on his social media, Tresor didnt and thats his right.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 8:53 amSo it’s ok to call Tresor but not Redmonds ,I can’t think of any useful contribution he made before he was injured.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Maybe the lack of investment is because Tresor, Ramsey, Redmond and Benson are all very near to coming back?
Or is that very wishful thinking?

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I wouldn't be surprised if we never see Redmond again, apart from a token bench appearance or two. Contract up this summer, by the time he gets match fit he's likely going to be well down the pecking order, every game is going to be massive so hard to ease him back in etc.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:02 pmHope we see Redmond on the bench again soon if he’s saying he’s nearly ready .
When he was back on the bench around November time Parker didn't really make any effort to get him on for pitch for 10 minutes, even when the game was won.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
There's a certain amount of deliciousness that Rovers were in for a lad that was deemed backup to a player that wasn't good enough for us pretty much straight away 7 years ago, who himself is anything but first choice for a lower midtable Champ side

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
More likely because of the ridiculous amount of money wasted in the Summer of 2023 on winger after winger when we had no left back.Sapperclaret73 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 10:00 amMaybe the lack of investment is because Tresor, Ramsey, Redmond and Benson are all very near to coming back?

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Redmond was always imo a strange not needed signing. He was often on the bench when at Saints and definitely has his best years behind him.If there is genuine interest from Brum we need to sell him as his wages are a drain we don't need ditto Magic Mike .

Go with what we have now unless we can get a real “game changer” in which is highly unlikely.
IMO we have enough to win this league already.
We have a great Manager, fantastic team spirit and players on fire with some fabulous talent nearing fitness.
