Yeah, so not teammates *thumbsup emoji*claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 12:25 pmAs above, I think that's a misunderstanding. Parker went back to Spurs after retiring as a player to coach in Spurs youth set up - that was 2017/2018 when Edwards was 18 or 19. I think he also started coaching younger kids part time whilst playing at Spurs before leaving for Fulham. Jonathan Hill was at Spurs in their youth set up at the same time.

17/18 was the season in question I think when Parker coached the Spurs U18s ? Edwards was then 18 I reckonquoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 12:25 pmEdwards would have only been 15 when parker left though. He might well know him but teammates they obviously were not.

No. Agreed that seems to be misunderstood. But there may well be a closer connection as player and coach then you implied. Let's hope so because that would enhance our chances of getting him.

I didn’t imply anything, I literally just said he might well know him but they weren’t teammates. Anyway, whatever, agreed he’d be a decent signing and that’s what matters.claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 12:36 pmNo. Agreed that seems to be misunderstood. Not anymore. Based on a snap but of research he is training away from the first team squad in part due to what Sporting perceive to be attitude problems and because he is running his contract down and making no secret about it.
The fans are lamenting the loss of a player that mightve gone on to be one of their greats if he cut out his perceived negative traits as they see them, which is his laziness, unwillingness to track back and being greedy.
Not too bothered about any of that to be honest, Scotty will get his head screwed back on again.

So was Edwards 15 or 18 when Parke knew him?
This is the question we really need answering this afternoon.

What a signing this is. Palace, Everton linked recently with him so this is a bit of a coup for us.

With Edwards looking like he’s coming in, I don’t see another wide player coming in this window. If we can get Tresor off the books and bring a striker in along with Redmond, benson and Ramsey coming back we have the squad to go on a massive run to end the season

Edwards hasn't played since 30th November & has been injured since 7th January, so it may be some time before we see him action if he does sign.

We can’t get Magic Mike off the books. He would pass a medical to leave Burnley, if it’s only a straight loan the medicals aren’t always as intense as a perm signingTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 1:50 pmWe can’t get Magic Mike off the books. He couldn’t pass a medical.

Impressive gymnastics but no one in any sport ever would define teammates like that.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 1:48 pmThey were both employed by Spurs at the same time. So teammates. The team is Spurs.
We’ve established they were at the same club at the same time but not teammates. I’m not sure it needed another 10 posts after mine to confirm the same thing but that’s this board for you.
An amusing interlude but back to transfers now please gang. Marcus Edwards yes please, no matter who he was a teammate or not of previously.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Seem to remember Poch trying not to big him up too much and then saying he plays like Messi. He is/was a great dribbler. From what I've seen he's a premier League player. Potentially Excellent signing if it happens

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
No Brownhill or Luca in today's squad. Hope we haven't sold either. I know Celtic are interested, but if we've sold our captain and top-goalscorer mid-season without a replacement lined up, I'll be very disappointed. Hopefully just an illness or something.

Brownhill looked to be struggling after he got smashed by ampadu on Monday night, most likely just a precaution

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Football isn't played on a piece of paper, or on a league table, it's played on a pitch. I can see, and appreciate all the good things that SP has given us, but nothing can disguise the fact that at home, our performances have been pitiful.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:01 amMadness.
In terms of expectations. I think 99 percent of the fan base would have expected the hunt for automatic promotion. I also think 99percent of the fan base would have expected Leeds and Sheffield United to be the two teams competing against us for this.
In terms of reality. We are in the hunt for automatic promotion while also having (on paper) gone through what looks to be out toughest run of fixtures.
Leeds and Sheff united are the only two teams above us within one result.
Parker certainly isn't under achieving.
Perhaps the unhappy ones need to remind themselves of there expectation at the start of this season and realign themselves.
Woeful would mean we're not good enough, pitiful is when we have the players and the ability, to get so much more out of games.
Parker has the time to show us that he can give us more to cheer about at home, hopefully starting Tuesday, but he has to deliver more. How the hell does a team concede only 9 goals in 29 matches, yet find itself playing catch up.
