They've won 5 out of 6 games at home before today, so you're right, not an easy place to gobillyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:26 pmSadly its the day and age we live in, hysteria is becoming the norm for just about everything on social media as it requires the histrionics to fuel the fire as bad news sells.
Stay calm and carry on.
We have had plenty of hysteria on here in the last 6 months, but we are still in the hunt.
An away day at Pompey is never easy and by all accounts they came at us and we did well to get a point.

Not for about 25 minutes, no.
Would you like me to list all the games where it has been incredibly boring?
The manager can’t keep on using the excuse of ‘a new group of players’. He’s had hours and hours with them on the training ground.
It’s a tough watch. Every week.

The only time we show any energy is when Hannibal comes on ,it’s like a poor man’s version of Man City but with no striker.

Calling for Parker’s head and calling our promotion chances laughable is.

90% sure I saw Stephen Gerrard talking to Joe Wagner in the Montgomery lounge, today. To be fair, I had a little too much to drink due to the match being a bore fest so I could be mistaken.

It’s not hysteria getting annoyed about being bored half senseless in what is ultimately supposed to be some form of entertainment.

21 clean sheets, I don’t understand what everybody’s problem is. People surely realise by now they couldn’t care less about entertaining you. It’s just a business, nothing more. And nobody is forced to watch.

I’ll give you Luton away - Odobert was excellent.
Cardiff at home? We won comfortably but came off the match wondering how we won so convincingly when we played so poorly.
You think we played entertaining football away at Rovers? Really?? I loved beating them and scoring a diving header down our end to win it….but don’t kid yourself that we played well or it was a good game. It really wasn’t.
It feels very much like you’re clutching at straws for good, exciting performances this season.

But where is the balance? You have to create chances to score goals, you have to score goals to win games and you have to win games to get promotion.
We have the players. It’s the team selection and tactics that are the issue and has been for 4-5 months with this manager now.

I hope we go up. I do not think Parker will keep us up,but I can not watch 46 more championship games of abject boredom next year. Its absolutely awful.
His set up and his substitutions. Awful. Really really awful.

My point was more, it's easy to say when you've not gone. But if you've travelled that distance. And when you've gone that way and it's been it's a negative performance. Scoring 6 goals in 7 games - 5 being in 1 game. It's fairly understandable to be disgruntled about that performance.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:52 pmNo, but I’ve been two two-thirds of our games this season of it’s a ******* contest?
I wasn't having a whose *** is bigger contest every fan even if they just watch it at home is justified to have their own opinion, just more saying there justification for the fans to be upset who went and saw that.

If we do go up it will be the most boring promotion in our history.
And next season will be unbearable.

I'm not clutching at anything. I've watched them for 60+ years and seen some good and some absolutely awful football but it is what it is at the minute and people continually moaning on here wont make an once of difference!

I don’t see what relevance your age is? I’ve been watching for nearly 40 years but can’t do anything about the year I was born.
In fact, your whole ‘it is what it is’ response didn’t really make any sense or address my post. The kind of response that you get when you can’t defend the indefensible.

Lets all remind ourselves of 2002 to cheer us up shall we:

Imagine conceding 6 to Grimsby, 6 to Rotherham, 4 to Gillingham, 5 to Reading, 7 to Watford and 7 to Sheffield Wednesday all in the same season... with four of those at home.
Up the 0-0 ParkerBall Burnley.

Agree there Socrates. I think we are playoffs only and like you i havent thought that so far. I cant see us making up any gap at the moment.Socrates wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:59 pmIf only we had somebody who could open a defence with a pass or a winger who could cut inside and make things happen.
Two subs we made. Two. And one of them was the 89th minute.
This isn’t safety first football. It is incredible levels of negativity against teams who we have four or five times the resources of.
I do not think we will go up automatically. And that’s now the first time I’ve thought that this season.
I also can't understand how Foster lasted beyond 55 mins - it was crying out for a change - push sarmiento wide maybe, bring on Shelvey (why the **** have we signed him) chuck Ashley on up top in front of Fleming).
He's had a dogshit hand from Pace but at the moment seems to be struggling to clean it up

What gap are you referring to? We're 3 points behind Sheffield Utd, with a better goal difference and have still to play them at home!BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:54 pmAgree there Socrates. I take by "another" fun year, you're referring to Kompany's or Dyche's seasons, not this year. I think for a fun year, we would definitely need a new manager.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:57 pmMust admit, I’m not even sure I want to get promoted. Re: Hysteria
Do you think the draw against Leeds was worse than the infamous 0-0 at home to Luton in the SC era?
Really tough call... the chip packet blowing across the pitch made the Luton game marginally more entertaining for me.

Re: Hysteria
Hysteria? I'm not sure it's that.
Fan base fed up with shite performances against sides we are expected to beat....yes.
Let's not make out it's something it's not.
We have been struggling all season (bar first 2 games) to score goals. This is building up now. The players are lacking confidence going forward because the pressure is building not scoring. The fans are getting frustrated.
We are 3 points behind 2nd, great, but we were 2point off top a few wks ago. We are slipping slowly.
Hysteria ? I'm not sure.
Let's remember, home fans were singing boring boring burnley today.
That's embarrassing

Who cares if we concede a few goals when with our squad and financial advantage we should be able to out score most teams. Let's face facts the only person who is stopping us attacking wise is Scott Parker. He’s everything Fulham and Bournemouth fans said he would be.
