In, obviously.

But it’s possibly promotion or bust for him. You either have to be successful or entertaining.

Because it’d be lunacy getting rid of a manager halfway through a season when we’re unbeaten in god knows how many and within three points of automatic promotion.

Because we're third in the sodding league and have lost twice all season.

It's weird. I never meet these kind of fans in person.

Criticism of the entertainment factor, sure, but I've not heard one fan who actually goes to games saying we'd be better off with a change of manager!

It is interesting to read the regular negative posters who always come out after a ......draw.

1. Are they imposter fans?

2. Are they just incredibly negative individuals with nothing else better to do?

3. Both

They started supporting us as a prem club under Dyche, jumped on the Kompany bandwagon and expect us to walk the championship every time we are in there

They have zero knowledge of football, don't go to games, they own a firestick and complain about the cost of football and it no being a working class sport anymore

All the usual suspects are blocked by me so this thread is a lot shorter. Parker hasn’t even had a proper transfer window yet. 2 defeats. 3rd. Derby win. 5-0 away win (not many of those post war!). Clean sheet records. Lowest goal conceded records. Minor number of bed wetting wind up merchants online.

If you want guaranteed entertainment Luke Littler is on ITV4 now.

Not at all, it’s fine to have negative opinions about a game of football but what you fail to understand is you filled thread after thread with anti Parker waffle the minute he became manager. Then after weeks of people telling you to stop and a part time ban from the board you decided to create a thread apologising for how you had been. Then what happens you start again and manage to make every single thread about Parker

Out. As soon as possible. I’ve watched Burnley for over 45 years. I can’t remember a manager that actively avoided trying to win games before. He thinks he’s a genius but his brand of tactic is already outdated.

Dyche would get this squad promoted easily if he was appointed tomorrow.

The idea that Dyche or anyone else "easily gets us promoted" is just daft. For a start, the players clearly respect and really like Parker. What happens to their morale if he's fired in 3rd place 17 matches unbeaten with a historic defensive record.

How ridiculous would it be, for pace to pay parkers millions to leave, then declare the reason is there's too many 0-0 draws and it's too boring. In the meantime with not long left in the season, he's supposed to very quickly go through an interview process and find someone who can not only keep us defensively tight but add goals. Knowing none of the players, coaches, ins and outs of the club.

Whether people are happy with us not winning enough games is irrelevant, the logistics implied by the "parker out" brigade on here are nothing short of stupid.

A lot of armchair managers on this thread.
Getting promoted out of the Championship for a small industrial town, is extremely very difficult. It's akin to swotting for a nuclear physics degree. Hard but very boring work, but will get you there in the end.
I do agree however that the squad need to be more adventurous going forwards.
Parker is doing exactly what Pace has asked of him. He inherited a sh**.show of a squad with comings and goings everywhere. To be where we are today in the league is nothing short of remarkable.
So well done SP.

A half decent manager would have us clear at the top of the league. Don’t really but into the players ‘like and respect him’ argument so they won’t play under a new manager.
We aren’t going to change managers but Parker quickly needs to change his philosophy and tactics or it’ll be a wasted season in terms of going straight back up in such a poor standard division.

I’m not sure that a half decent manager would be doing much more than Parker is. Yes, things need tweaking, but we lack quality up front.

By all accounts, Parker has turned around a dressing room with numerous issues and formed what now appears to be a close knit group, who are all (possibly with an obvious exception) pulling in the same direction.

What sort of message would it send to the players, getting rid of him now, third in the table, a chance for automatic and a happier squad? It would look ridiculous from the outside, so God knows what the players would think.

Any new manager would be a gamble and come at a financial cost.

It’s all about opinions, but I think you’d have to be mad as a box of frogs to think that changing managers now would be a good idea.

Sorry that's absolute boll*cks plus you're making arguments I didn't make. Firstly the idea that we'd be clear of Leeds with any manager at all is fanciful after summers transfer madness. Never mind "a half decent one". Even if you look at Sunderland, the least fancied of the top 4, their forward 4 are better than ours. We don't have the best overall squad.

Secondly I didn't say they wouldn't play for a new manager, my whole point was the timing of it makes the whole idea completely ridiculous. A new manager, new ideas, new coaches, new relationships. 16 games to go. It takes time to bed in new ideas and patterns, the players would try sure they would that wasn't my point.

A separate point which still valid imo, is that the players do respect and like parker, and morale would take a hit. Some would be angry too. Not unsolvable but tricky for a new manager coming in at this point.

I repeat, absolute nonsense of an idea to consider sacking him.

Our current line up lacks players that can beat a man or two and progress us forward and create space / opportunities by dribbling (early doors we had odobert and vitinhio but neither have been adequately replaced). Hes also stopped playing Foster up top and generally played a more defensive minded person (than Odobert) in the attacking midfield role. The exception being Sarmiento who just isn’t good enough.

We break / transition so slowly and move the ball so slowly it is too easy for teams to nullify us. We take almost no risks.

Whilst as ive pointed out we lost some key personnel Parker is definitely to blame for it. Its his tactical style whatever guff he says in his press conferences.

If we’d won half the home games we’d drawn we’d be clear at the top. Any half decent manager open to attacking football while still being solid at the back would have achieved that with this squad. He needs to realise it’s February and ditch the safety first approach and take some chances.

We missed big chances to win at hull and boro, and home To stoke. Not parkers fault we miss those chances, and miss out on 6pts

It doesn't work like that. "Any half decent manager" wouldn't have the same solid base. You don't get to keep what parker has been good at, and just add some magic dust to get more wins elsewhere. So we win more games at home, but this other half decent manager doesn't have nearly the same record away from home. Does Parker get no credit for wins at Leeds and Sheffield United?

I have criticisms of Parker, the last bit I agree with. We do need to be more adventurous especially now it would be very unlikely for us not to reach the playoffs. We've nothing to lose essentially at a certain point. But all this isn't about what Parker could do better, it's the idea of sacking him now with 16 games to go. Hypothesisising about what other managers may or may not have done from the start isn't the reason certain posters raise this from the dead every 4 weeks. They want to sack him now, which is nuts.

The problem will be if we fall further behind the top two as then he’ll have no chance but to be adventurous and from what we’ve seen so far and what Fulham and Bournemouth fans tell us that goes against everything he stands for.
Keep saying Dyche has us solid at the back but balanced with an attacking threat. The balance is there to be had.

You'd think we were 3rd from the bottom with the way some of the cry-babies carry on.
Exactly what I’ve been seeing. God knows what other fans of the teams below us are saying about their teams. They must be suicidal

It's weird. I never meet these kind of fans in person.

Criticism of the entertainment factor, sure, but I've not heard one fan who actually goes to games saying we'd be better off with a change of manager!
Well living in Havana I imagine its difficult!!! Having a laugh.

Pray, how did Bournemouth manage to finish in second place in the Championship under Parker, as the second highest goal scorers, by just sitting back and defending?
Or, are the Bournemouth fans referring to the handful of games Parker managed them in the PL? Hardly relevant to this debate anyway.
