Beats me. Not much difference to the side that went up 2 seasons ago.

that just backs up what KR is sayingCoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:53 pmBig chances missed is a horrific stat that is constantly misused.
How about the fact that they sniffed those chances out in the first place?
Aguero was another, Wood for us some seasons - now look at him.

Think it shows momentum can be a big thing in football. Beating them 4 1 maybe set us one way, and them the other.
Agree we could do alot worse than any of those three, but Morris > Adebayo for me.

Come on, we aren’t seriously comparing the best finishers in the world to Adebayo?KRBFC wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:40 pmUse your brain mate.
The top 4 for biggest chances missed in the PL this season are Watkins, Haaland, Jackson and Salah.
Big chances missed doesn’t mean they don’t score goals, Adebayo has a track record of scoring goals he’s just had a poor season, in a new environment hopefully he’ll recover his form.
The difference is they actually score goals.

I never claimed we had on just that imo Iheanacho is erratic re goals. We do need a quick box finisher but waiting till the last day of the window to solve a problem we've had since August is a worry

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Lots of chat re medical today on Edwards signing is it sorted yet I wonder?
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Iheanacho being playing professional football a decade, and has yet to breach 250 appearances nor 50 goals.
May well be a different proposition at Championship level but I don't see him as being this big spark we need.

That means he’s had 24 shots! A step in the right direction from where we are now.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 8:05 amYep just checked Adebayo has missed 24 big chances this season.
The next highest is latte lath with 14 haha.

Good call on Willian.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 3:01 pmI think Adebayo or Morris from Luton would be very smart signings and give us some presence up front and in the opposition’s penalty box.
There’s been absolutely no link but I also think Willian, who is on a free, would be an incredibly smart signing for 6 months.

Very average player. No idea if the Guiu rumours are true but if we signed him the two moves aren’t even comparable in terms of quality.

That’s okay, we don’t create any big chances for him to missNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 8:05 amYep just checked Adebayo has missed 24 big chances this season.

Maybe he fancies a move here to help improve that stat

Just showing you how stupid your use of the big chances missed stat was. Just because they miss big chances it doesn’t mean they don’t score goals.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 4:36 pmCome on, we aren’t seriously comparing the best finishers in the world to Adebayo?

Adebayo had 10 in 27 in the PL last season, I don’t think
he’s a 20 goal a season striker but I do think he’d give us a real presence in the box when we’ve got the ball out wide, a target to hit and work around and also a target to improve our horrible corner record.

Is that on the level, BC? It seems funny the way that Scot Parker seems to just whiz into the frame from the right.

It’s not a stupid stat though Adebayo has been awful this season and he is in a league of own for missed chances.KRBFC wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 6:12 pmJust showing you how stupid your use of the big chances missed stat was. Just because they miss big chances it doesn’t mean they don’t score goals.

Why would we want a player like that, especially when we create so few chances as it is.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Genuine question, have we been linked with Adebayo?
A lot of talk about him on here but not someone i have seen us linked with. Personally would take Morris over him, especially in our style play.

No....but it won't stop people wanting to show off their footballing knowledge, or lack of, for about 3 pages

You can have as many loans as you want, but only 5 can be named in the matchday squad.

I can’t see us bringing in a loan, who would you leave out the match day squad?
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Sarmiento? Or get one of the others to sign permanently early.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Depending on what is happening with Tresor, Redmond and Ramsey - all of whom play in a similar position to Sarmiento - it wouldn't be a massive surprise to see him fade from the picture. He's not as good a player as any of those three on paper (leaving aside their obvious injury and other circumstances currently) and I'm not sure he's made a compelling case to remain part of the match day squad. His performances since the turn of the year have been pretty underwhelming unfortunately, and with Benson and Koleosho also around the squad and Edwards hopefully arriving, you can see a case for terminating his loan if Brighton are open to that.
As for Adebayo, there was a suggestion that we were interested in him in the summer. I'm not sure he's ideally what we need right now (I think someone nimbler would fit what we're trying to do around the box better) but on the point about chances, I think Alex Ferguson once said of Andy Cole that his greatest attribute was that he had the instinct and mentality to get into the positions to miss easy chances, because it the fact he missed it meant he had the goalscorer's knack in the first place and the bravery to keep risking missing - and eventually luck will change.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Anyone heard who the second player might be or was that incorrect information?
In fact, it was mentioned, there maybe a third?

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I'd much prefer a striker that misses chances to one that doesn't get in position to miss them which worryingly is Fosters biggest issue.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 6:49 pmIt’s not a stupid stat though Adebayo has been awful this season and he is in a league of own for missed chances.

I remember Akinbiyi missing some absolute sitters for us along with Andre Gray but they both scored a ton because they were constantly getting into position.
