There's a player in there somewhere, played plenty of Championship and Prem football. Not a huge signing, but would make sense.jedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 10:31 amKarlan Grant asking to leave West Brom.
An average striker, perhaps yes (in fact, is he even that?), but he offers something different in that sort of Andre Gray-esque pacy option through the middle. I can't imagine there are many viable options on deadline day, but I wouldn't say no to give us a totally different proposition through the middle (don't all lynch me...).

He'll need to do a lot of work on passing backwards before he's considered ready.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I like the way Parker is balancing the squad. He's identified where we lacked depth at right back and as backup for Cullen and got those positions sorted pretty quickly. Left back is the only other one where we are short really. The rest is more about improving on what we already have

Anyone else concerned that signing a left back is so Humphreys can move to CB to replace Steve?

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Answering my own question but...
...it looks like he hasn't had much football recently. Doubt he'll be starting games in the next couple of weeks, hopefully I'm wrong.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
The initial question was whether the deal had hit a complication. I was just confirming that it was done pending a signature.
You then blathered in at that point farting on about it not being done, missing the point entirely.
Just highlighting that in a way that's really easy to understand for you.
Let me know if you're still struggling.

Twitter saying £250,000 fee. Not to be sniffed at for what was a free transfer and barely played for us. Makes no sense to keep him around now Worrall is fit and we have Humphreys who can play there. Smart deal all round.

Worrall looked really good against Reading. Ridiculous quality player to have in reserve!! Can see why Egan isn't getting a game atm!FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 11:00 amTwitter saying £250,000 fee. Not to be sniffed at for what was a free transfer and barely played for us. It is the sort of shrewd business that we should have done more in recent years, we've let too many players go for free or a relatively small loss, that adds up.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 11:00 amTwitter saying £250,000 fee. Only worry you normally only count your penny jar when you're worried about the pounds... obviously this is the 100's of K and millions...
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Out of interest who have we let go for a loss? So many ins and outs I lose track, but normally we do ok in getting feesBleedingClaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 11:11 amIt is the sort of shrewd business that we should have done more in recent years, we've let too many players go for free or a relatively small loss, that adds up.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Agreed good deal on Egan and clearly more savvy on dealings than in previous times.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Just watched Marcus Edwards vids on you tube, he looks absolute class, to good for championship?
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Excellent deal if he won't sign a new deal but with Ekdal, Delcroix and Egan all leaving it suddenly leaves us light again in that area. If Beyer was close to fitness it'd be good business but surely we'd need another centre back in?
Nelson for Tresor swap deal perhaps?
Pace won't reject £15 million if he's a free in the summer though

I think that's everyone's understanding. But in this case 'done' is shorthand for "there's an agreement, everyone happy to sign, there is no complication".123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 11:29 amAnd I were just highlighting that it wasn’t done without a signature, which is the case with any deal

If we're getting a left back as suggested above that frees up humps as cvb. Jayden Danns joining Sunderland on loan from Liverpool, seems a good move for them as he looks a real prospect.
Blackburn were in for him and now miss out.

Sky also reporting Guehi expected to remain at Palace, which is (hopefully) good news for us, unless Spurs come calling.

Egan ain’t a bad player. I’m not suggesting it’s a desirable outcome but with the time we have left, he ain’t the worst option.
