An average striker, perhaps yes (in fact, is he even that?), but he offers something different in that sort of Andre Gray-esque pacy option through the middle. I can't imagine there are many viable options on deadline day, but I wouldn't say no to give us a totally different proposition through the middle (don't all lynch me...).

There's a player in there somewhere, played plenty of Championship and Prem football. Not a huge signing, but would make sense.

I like the way Parker is balancing the squad. He's identified where we lacked depth at right back and as backup for Cullen and got those positions sorted pretty quickly. Left back is the only other one where we are short really. The rest is more about improving on what we already have

It is the sort of shrewd business that we should have done more in recent years, we've let too many players go for free or a relatively small loss, that adds up.
Only worry you normally only count your penny jar when you're worried about the pounds... obviously this is the 100's of K and millions...

I think that's everyone's understanding. But in this case 'done' is shorthand for "there's an agreement, everyone happy to sign, there is no complication".

Offloading Egan and loaning out Ekdal and Delcroix gives me much more confidence that we'll have Steve and Egan-Riley until at least the summer.
