Yes, we do for once.

Burnley Express journalist has just tweeted that Spurs have not bid for him anyway.

Truth or not I would ask for £50m+ as they would be desperate in their situation but hopefully its not going to happen, Now wheres that LB and striker coming in ?

I'd hate to lose Esteve but we'd be bonkers to turn down £30m. I reckon given the circumstances £20m is a hard no but if they get to £25m then its a ough decision.

30 million isn't anywhere near enough. There's not many rapid young left footed centre backs that read the game brilliantly around. I imagine there'll be big competition for him In the summer.

Hate to put a dampener on things but £20m for Esteve does sound like a typical Levy bid, and perhaps he knows more about our current finances.

Hope I'm wrong.

Bidding 70mil for Guehi earlier and signing a 19 year old for 50mil would say otherwise about how he’s moving with typical bids today.

Probably just to keep the fans at bay and calm them down and then all of the sudden it will break tomorrow morning that they filed the paperwork "late" and the deal can't be done.

The Burnley Express also have headlines “Clarets have 6 out injured for the next match” I’d take them with a huge pinch of Cerebos .

Those ‘x amount of injured players’ articles are produced for pretty much every club under that news organisations banner. Absolutely nothing linked to proper local journalism. Matt Scrafton will be significantly closer to the action than most journalists tonight.

Matt Scrafton won’t write those articles though. It will be some freelance writer aiming for click bait for the various papers under the organisation’s umbrella. It was the same when Chris Boden was the Chief BFC Reporter for the paper.

I regret you found my comment unintelligible, so for clarity:

1. In my view Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, has a history of, shall we say, being careful with money. As such it would be no surprise to me if he offered Burnley, what Burnley fans might consider a low offer.

2. Daniel Levy, primarily is a business man, and might more than most, be in position to know more accurately the finances of Burnley FC; he will know the fine details of the Wilson Odobert signing - payment structure. leasing agreement, whatever.

3. I hope he doesn't see us in desperate need to generate funds, and sell Esteve on the cheap.

Supposedly we have one more coming in (I think striker) whilst signing Sessegnon/Manning is looking unlikely.

In all seriousness (and apologies for my tone) what I was getting at that there appears to be no evidence that Spurs have made a bid and to then add further conjecture that Levy has gone low because he knows that we are in financial trouble is just adding conjecture on to conjecture.

..and in fairness, I was reacting to a rumour, adding 2 and 2 together and hoping it wasn't 5, purely because it was Spurs (or rather Levy).

It would be "very Burnley" of the club to make a big deal on social media recently about when Esteve joined us with his episode of the documentary airing just in time for us to then sell him...
