We can’t rely on Ramsey, Redmond, Beyer, Edwards - even if fit, they’re a long way off match fit and probably need a pre season - we might get a game or two out of them - might be useful in the playoffs!
Why would we bring in a player on loan who we don't expect to be able to use fairly imminently?
It's a decent window in my eyes. Possibly missing a striker, but I think the ones we have are good enough if we can create more chances for them. Hopefully Edwards arriving & Benson being back in contention helps with that - neither seem like players who will spend their time tracking back in the way that Koleosho and Anthony do, so would naturally give the team a more 'ambitious' balance.
We've got some players out of the way who weren't really contributing, and added a bit of experience in Shelvey and Barnes that could be valuable in big moments. Anything we get from the long term absentees towards the end of the season would only improve our options too, because there is some undoubted talent among them.

We still have a huge squad and two decent teams on paper. The time has come to throw caution to the wind and get on the front foot. The play offs are all but certain already. It's a four team shootout for automatic promotion.
Trafford
Roberts CJ Esteve Humphries
Cullen Laurent
Edwards Brownhill Anthony
Foster
Hladky
Sonne Beyer Worrall Pires
Shelvey Hannibal
Benson Sarmiento Koleosho
Flemming
This still leaves Green, Sambo, Redmond, Ramsey, Barnes, Tresor, Agyei, Banel, Bauress, and McDermott. No more excuses. We have more than enough to blow most teams away, we just need to take the handbrake off, starting tonight!

I think we've paid too much attention to our two most recent games, against Leeds and Portsmouth. Leeds game, both teams were afraid of losing and that was down to game preparation and game management. Portsmouth, maybe a little too much respect given, or maybe we'll look back on it being a good point.
Tonight, Oxford will give us a few problems, but nothing a first half goal won't help.

A window from the start that looked like we’re skint and so it proved. We’ll finish 3rd/4th.

Too many ifs and buts to feel confident our business this window will make the difference.
Four teams in the hunt for automatic, Leeds look like getting one of the places and the other 3 fighting it out for the other spot.
The obsession with clean sheets has to stop

Hope I’m wrong but I think automatic promotion is off the table, we aren’t far away but you fear we have thrown away too many points already. Leeds seem nailed on for first and whilst Sheff can loose a game they seem to win with more regularity than us.
The fixture list is in our favour in the sense that we have played most of the top half away from home now including all the top teams.
Playoffs are virtually guaranteed so may as well just go hell for leather for second now otherwise we aren’t really playing for anything. No use having the best defence in the league if you’re still in that league again next season.

Here's a good overview of all the deals (look at Swansea for a good laugh)
https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... s-and-outs
Leeds - no one in. The question is, did they need anyone?
Sheffield Utd - Choudry, Cannon, BBD, Rob Holding - they have significantly strenghtened
Sunderland - Le Fee and Isidor - Not bad - Still waiting on Danns (which would be a good signing)
We seem a bit light still. Here's hoping Edwards hits the ground running and Redmond and Benson can start contributing, otherwise it is play offs for us.
We may end up in the playoffs, but if we do it’ll be a system issue and Parker’s prioritisation of defensive football that doesn’t encourage attacking play or putting the ball at risk enough. Nothing to do with squad at all.
Your summary was interesting because looking at that list, I wouldn’t swap our January business with any team. Leeds haven’t added at all so no debate needed there, Sheffield have added average players and depending how Shelvey gets on we’ve added two quality players, Sunderland might’ve pipped us if Danns weren’t injured & needing rehab.
Maintain that we started the season with the strongest squad and still have the strongest squad now. It’s a case of Parker getting the best out of the team & letting the shackles off.

Agree, to the point I think it’s wise that the manager and media team stop celebrating them until they come alongside goals too.
