I must admit, not being local, I've never done Pendle Hill. It is an iconic landmark though.

Be careful, they can be dangerous. Lancaster Claret has done a load of them and posted on social media. Shortly after, he was in hospital with a heart attack and required heart bypass surgery......
Has he recovered?.......he doesn't post on here anymore.

Colburn, I did Pendle again yesterday from Barley, up Ogden Clough, past the reservoirs and onto the summit from the stone pathway. The summit conditions were some of the worst I’ve experienced, and I must have done Pendle over 50x. Almost whiteout, very strong bitterly cold easterly wind, and certainly not fit to stop and eat our butties.
Things improved considerably after losing height but we still had the wind in our faces most of the way back to Barley.
For a fell of around 1850’, Pendle is a challenge, but for me, always enjoyable, even on a day like yesterday.

Further to my last post,Colburn if you’re ever up in these parts and fancy a trip up Pendle, just let me know and I’d be happy to take you up. My favourite route is from Downham, then we can finish off with a pint at The Swan with Two Necks, which is a CAMRA real ale pub of the year, in nearby Pendleton.

Downham is the connoisseurs route, in my opinion!

Thanks HGC

That's a very kind offer, and I hope to take you up on it one day soon. Beer always tastes nicer when you feel you've earned it.
