Re: Euatace to Derby
I second this. They looked at risk of doing something with Super Steve in charge. If they go all out and get Michael Appleton as director of football, and Owen Coyle on the under 21's they could form a real trilogy of danger.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 8:35 amMaybe the time has club for their fans to apologise for their conduct and ask the club to bring Steve Keen back. He is the best manager they have had since Sam.

BBC sport "understands" that Blackburn manager John Eustace "is set to take the Derby County job."

Imagine being in the playoffs and losing your manager to a club below you and in the relegation zone.

Re: Euatace to Derby
Every manager they've had since Steve Kean has left them in a lower position than where the great man had them. Maybe get him back.
Re: Euatace to Derby
That's a stinking statement by them, I'd feel sorry for the fans if it wasn't so fecking hilarious

That statement is comedy gold. They are basically blaming themselves. They wrote the clause into his contract. The clause has been met. How can they be mad? Hahaha
The impressive performances bit too. They got beat 2-0 hahahaha I can’t stop laughing

Also, we're in no position to comment, but probably the only time any national media will be remotely interested in them for 5 minutes, and they've a typo in the statement.

Re: Euatace to Derby
Hopefully they get the next appointment wrong. Quite a few decent managers out of work who might fancy trying to see them into the play offs.

Eddie Howe left us for a team in a division lower and got to the PL with them before we got there. He’s been there ever sinceRowls wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:38 pmHahahahaha

They're having a discussion about this on Radio Lancs...
Brett Ormerod and Mark Atkins practically in tears.

Re: Euatace to Derby
Think Sean got us up before Eddie got the cherries up to the Prem League
Eddie to the Cherries in 2012 when they were in League One
Sean took us up in 2014 when Eddie’s Bournemouth were mid table with the Cherries having been promoted in 2012-13 into the Championship

Re: Euatace to Derby
I don’t understand the logic in this move but maybe I am missing something.
Re: Euatace to Derby
Amazing they have just said Rovers have lost 7 of their last 11 games yet they are still 6th.
Re: Euatace to Derby
I think a lot of the window lickers were drooling when we lost our manager to a European giant who have won their league numerous times, for North of ten million pounds, not to a relegation threatened team for a few hundred grand.
Re: Euatace to Derby
Reading between the lines Howe knew he had failed with us and didn’t want the sack,, so legged it back down south. Been a good move for him to be fairBleedingClaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 6:02 pmI think leaving us was stated as Geographical and then he went on to manage just off the coast of Norway

A fan on the phone on R/Lancs, when asked if she'd any ideas about a replacement replied
"I really wouldn't wish this club on anyone".

Re: Euatace to Derby
They seem to think that managers are going to be queueing around the block for the job.
Not convinced at all about that one.

Re: Euatace to Derby
They’ve a recent history of making good managerial appointments which has papered over the cracks.
There’ll also be some short sighted out of work managers who’ll jump at the chance to join a team in the Championship playoffs but you sense it will start to slide.

Such an elegant, well constructed statement from one of the Shadsworth wordsmiths.

Re: Derby sack Warne
The B*stards are genuinely the gift that keeps on giving.
They properly thought that they'd turned a corner and were closing the gap on us after their big 1-1 win at the Turf, after we fielded a side that hadn't even had a training session together.
Then we turned them over in their first sellout for like 15 years..... and now their manager is leaving to join a club in the relegation zone.
Honestly, you couldn't write a better script. Absolutely HILARIOUS

Re: Derby sack Warne
I think you all need to take a step back and reflect on when this happened to us.
Remember when Coyle ditched us in the PL, tore out our hearts after taking us to the promised land. Inexplicably leaving us for someone who were on the brink of financial oblivion and sticking a dagger in our backs as he pretended to be invested in our club only to leave us in the lurch.
Remember the hurt, remember the betrayal, remember how low we felt and how much it decimated the team and town's morale
... and think how its happening to them...
and try not to hurt yourself from laughing too hard.

Re: Derby sack Warne
We lost our last manager to one of the top clubs in world football and got a rumoured 10 million quid for him
They lose theirs to a club at the bottom of the same league for half a million quid and they won't even use that money for new players
