Love to see clarets represented abroad. Surprised there aren’t social media accounts that people can use, but good to have a thread on here.

'Abroad' kind of suggests you have to at least cross a bit of sea or something.
My IOM game may be a better qualification.

I'm in Frankfurt, and I bumped into another claret who lives here when I went to the obligatory Irish pub to watch the first derby game this season. I've not got a photo in a Burnley shirt from here though I don't think.

Live in Manilva/Duquessa, quite a few clarets around here, good bars with a good banter between all the different teams, Dean West plays golf with us when he’s over & DerekStatham is a regular which is funny as it’s a big Wolves pub.

User name gives it away. Second time around in Cayman with 6 years in New Zealand in between.
Found a couple of Clarets in Cayman so far, but few and far between.
Shout out to the NZ Clarets!

Haven't found another Claret out here in Southern California - yet - only been here since 1985 though, so there's time.
Re: Clarets abroad
Currently on a cruise around South America. Today we arrived in Buenos Aires and we have taken an excursion to Igauzau Falls which lay between Brazil and Argentina. Hell of a long day with return flights and walking in temperatures of around 42 degrees (with humidity it was more like 48) and I saw a lad in a Burnley shirt. I shouted Up the Clarets but I think the lad was Argentinian and had no idea what he was wearing !

Live in the south of Thailand where Man U “supporters” are the majority followed by Liverpool. One of our neighbours supports Spurs but he’s very quiet at the moment.

I'm one of the Irish based Clarets, though born in Burnley I moved here in 2010. I have met other clarets around the world, most recently James Trafford's barber from Workington, whilst on a Mediterranean cruise last September.

Re: Clarets abroad
As my username suggests, I’m in Canada. Kitchener, Ontario to be more precise, about 100 km SW of Toronto. I’ve never met a fellow Claret, matter of fact I have to explain where Burnley actually is, even football fans I meet aren’t sure where Burnley is
My typical answer is ’25 miles north of Manchester’
I did play golf with an Irishman a few years ago who was familiar with Jimmy Mac, Elder, Irvine and Sammy Todd. He was massive Jimmy Mac fan, we had a nice conversation about him.
As a footnote: I recently completed a picture collage of Burnley and area. I pulled some of the pictures off this board uploaded on the seasonal photo threads. Thanks for that.

I bumped into a PNE fan from Paderborn at the England Slovenia match during the euros. Naturally he was a former QLR.

Re: Clarets abroad
My wife and I were over in Kincardine last year visiting friends. Played a few rounds of golf locally and then went to Toronto to watch the "Blue Jays." Small world. Currently watching the sunset over Caleta in Tenerife. Lovely spot. Played Amarilla golf earlier today. It's an OK course but the traffic is awful getting out.exilecanada wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 6:40 pmAs my username suggests, I’m in Canada. Arriving in '92, most automatically thought I was a QLR leftover, as they'd just left Alanbrooke bks. Met the odd Claret over the years, mainly visiting troops out and about in town, but non who are permanent.

I think everyone in that town relies on the Bruce plant for employment and they seem to do very well from it. We haven't grown horns yet and my vitals are still intact

Few of us out here in Bangkok. Enjoyed watching the rovers game with some of them in blue and white, thoroughly enjoyed the day. Parents over from Colne at the moment doubling the count!

Charlie - where are you in NM? Love that State! Especially Santa Fe which I've been lucky enough to spend some time in. Also love Flagstaff AZ, as you were asking about AZ.

I've been over here in Vancouver for 39 years, Wow how time flies. I live on a small Island 20 minute ferry ride from mainland, I've met a few Clarets over the years also one Blackpool fan and one Rovers fan, we had some good banter when we would see each other. I have a bet going with a bunch of ex pats who live on Island and support following clubs, Burnley, Leeds, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Coventry and Luton.
