Burnley lass on The Chase

Post by IanMcL » Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:33 pm

She is a clever young lady, however, when asked which cricketer was first to play 100 HOME test matches, she chose Joe Root, over James Anderson.

"Never heard of him".

She’d know who he was if there was a life size, mid-delivery statue of him in the town centre…like there SHOULD be.

Quite right. Or outside Burnley Cricket Club.

Disgraceful that hasn’t been sorted.

I have heard of James Anderson from Burnley, but I wouldn't have had a clue as to the right answer to the question.

It was between him and Broad but with Jimmys bowling record it had to be him 😉

A lass from Burnley gets a question where one of the options is someone from Burnley. The clue is in there somewhere.

Unfortunately it isn't obvious to her if she doesn't know who Jimmy Anderson is therefore doesn't even know he's from Burnley

Anyway the good news is that she is a very nice smiling young lady and her and 2 teammates beat the chaser! She now has four grand in her pocket.

Or if you read the headline of the article in the LT, she won £12k. Now when I was at school, admittedly many years ago, if you had £12k and shared it between 3 contestants, each one would get £4k.

Are there seriously people on here who have never heard of James Anderson ? I mean I have no interest in snooker but Ive heard of Ronnie O' Sulivan. I actively dislike horse racing but Ive heard of Frankie Dettori. Seems to me you'd have to live in a media-blackout not to have heard of , or read about,Jimmy the Burnley Express at some point in the last couple of decades.
