1) American striker who Rovers were going to sign for anywhere between £3.5m-£5m. The deal was cancelled whilst the striker was mid flight on his way to England to sign. He arrives in the UK anyway. They then try to sign him on loan with an obligation to buy for £5m. The deal is botched at the last minute due to a spelling/paperwork/admin 'error'. This left Jon Dahl Tomasson fuming and wanting an immediate exit. Similar to what has happened with Eustace over the past two days.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:12 amTwo questions from the above LET article.
1) Who is Duncan Maguire?
2) What is the revisionism on JDTs tenure?
2) The revisionism relates to a false narrative that started going around after JDT left. The narrative that JDT was a troublemaker, he was arrogant, he was selfish, only in it for himself, he let the club down, the club is better off without him etc. This was being perpetuated by so called ITK accounts and a couple of puppet journalists. The revisionism sought to make the club hierarchy look like the good guys and victims, while JDT was bad.
If any of you have seen the Rovers statement today on Eustace's exit, it is a disgrace. Check it out. They are trying to put the blame on Eustace for being unreasonable, saying he was backed with "significant investment", which is total ********. A journo has come out tonight saying Eustace always wanted to leave, he got the players he wanted, the club backed him but he still moaned etc. Basically portraying him as the bad guy. It's happening again.
That's what point (2) means in terms of revisionism. It has already started in regards Eustace.
