Same as Tuesday for me.
Maybe bring Edwards on a little earlier if needed.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Can't see the starting 11 changing. I wouldn’t.
If Browny and Luca are fit, you would think that Banel misses out and 1 of Benny or Luca. No room for Redmound or Sonne. Wow.

Feel a bit for Koleosho. He's not going to get much of a look in after starting the season as one everyone thought was going to tear the league apart.
That injury has had a really detrimental impact on his career already.

Got to be same starting lineup for me.

The bench for Hull was:summitclaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 12:55 pmCan't see the starting 11 changing. I wouldn’t.

Hladky, Worrall, Sarmiento, Benson, Edwards, Pires, Shelvey, Banel, Barnes.
I think I'd prefer Benson to be on the bench.

Really difficult to see how Benson fits in at all with Edwards appearing to be an upgraded version of him. Especially with Anthony’s current form on the right hand side.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
For the Preston game I see Benson as more likely to make a difference than Koleosho as a sub. But then again that would depend on if we were going for a goal or defending a lead. Benson I'd prefer for the former, Koleosho for the latter.Alan Young wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 1:15 pmReally difficult to see how Benson fits in at all with Edwards appearing to be an upgraded version of him. Only to be expected, it is Valentine’s Day after all
Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Hannibal over Josh on current form with the caveat that he needs to keep his head and avoid a first half booking.
Edwards is head & shoulders the best attacking player we have and should start if he is fit, I suspect he isn’t quite there so Antony wide right & ME off the bench.

Anthony one of our best performers so far on the right.

If it's 0-0 going into the last 30, Brownhill on for Laurent and Hannibal drops back next to Cullen along with Edwards on.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Really hard to argue against the same XI from Wednesday. The one thing nagging away is the early kick off time after most of the XI playing virtually the whole game on a Wednesday evening. Parker should really have made changes earlier on Wednesday with this in mind.

I like this, but think he'll go with Wednesday's starting 11 and give Brownhill a run out on the hour mark perhaps

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
It will be very interesting to compare the two sides picked for the league and the cup game the following week.
I have no doubt SP will stick with the same 11 as against Hull but in the Cup will he make the 8 changes again?

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Think Hannibal will need to be on his best behaviour tomorrow given the more physical approach of PNE.

I think Barnes is a sure thing on the bench seeing his experience and both strikers will be starting

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
We have enough midfielders to cope if Hannibal gets a suspension.
As long as there's no early red card, I think he should play at full throttle every game. To his maximum.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
If he can keep the intensity of his game as it is, but lose the reactionary nonsense to opposition trying to wind him up he'll be fine. Him being full throttle is less of a problem than bits of agro around the action. But he's 21, not having a pop just hope as he matures he gets the balance right. Has to start for me given recent performancesQuickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 8:22 amWe have enough midfielders to cope if Hannibal gets a suspension.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
I keep forgetting he's only 21. He looks and holds himself as a much older player. 100% a player you want on your side going into battle.willsclarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 9:23 amIf he can keep the intensity of his game as it is, but lose the reactionary nonsense to opposition trying to wind him up he'll be fine. Oh I agree, but I just don't think you can tell him to calm down completely or he might only play at 70%.willsclarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 9:23 amIf he can keep the intensity of his game as it is, but lose the reactionary nonsense to opposition trying to wind him up he'll be fine. Which probably means other players will be better playing.

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
That nine man bench is a strong enough team to beat any eleven PNE can put out

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
On a serious note though, add just 2 defenders and that finishes at least in the playoffs.Woonderbah wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 10:27 amThat nine man bench is a strong enough team to beat any eleven PNE can put out
Hladkey
Sonne Worral A.Nother Pires
Laurent Shelvey
Benson Edwards Redmond
Barnes
Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Add Ramsey, Beyer, Ekdal and Koleosho to that and you've got a good team. Shows our strength in depth when all fit.
Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
It begs the question nobody wants to hear. If we didn't go up this season, does it show we have enough depth to have a very good crack next season.
Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Just look at the team we have today but replacing Trafford/Esteve/Egan Riley/Roberts. We'd have a decent side but would have to make some good signings to make us a stand out top 2 team

Re: Team v PNE - 15 Feb
Even if fit brownhill should not come straight back into the side , if it's not broke you don't try to fix it! Sp has found an 11 that has clicked and is getting results, be madness to change it.
