Team for FA cup v PNE

Post by Woodleyclaret » Tue Feb 18, 2025 7:44 am

Imo we have a chance of 6th round or higher but I would play our strongest team not the one that beat Saints. PNE are beatable and we need to take advantage of our best 11 and go for the win

No chance of that, the lads are away at Cardiff the following Tuesday. It will be our shadow eleven, we might have a stronger bench though.

Win this and get Utd on the Turf and we’ve a good chance of a Wembley semifinal.

Strongest possible team...fully fired up...teach them not to behave like arseholes.

We haven't got a very good record against Man Utd on the Turf.

A team that gets GOOD minutes into Messrs Edwards, Shelvey, Worrall, Benson, Sonne, etc. We’re going to need them!

They don’t need game time to assist in getting 14 0-0 draws

Hldaky
Sonne worrall (any of cj esteve humprheys) pires
Shelvey. Brownhill
Benson. Sarmiento. Redmond
Foster or flemming (whoever isnt starting, if both still are then Barnes)

Get minutes into those who need them, reward those who played v southampton.

Hannibal i would actually start instead of Sarmiento or Redmond if he wanted to. I worry that he will get a load of grief even if its proved correct, when all he has simply done is call someone out.

Hannibal should be the first name on the team sheet. Would love to see him score the winner and give the PNE fans a bit of **** back.

Exactly, we probably have a better record at Old Trafford.

If we draw them, it's better away. They aren't very good at home. In fact if it's any PL team MU are our best chance.

Parker quoted as saying he’s injured. AGAIN. It’s a broken fingernail apparently.

Our strongest team is probably made up of the players we have on the bench anyway.

Was that the match where 2 days later a certain G Best destroyed us in a 6-1 battering?

Yes, of course. If only you were our manager instead of this fool.

I'd like to see Parker try and keep it tight and focus on keeping a clean sheet thus taking Preston back to Turf Moor for a replay

I wasn’t really bothered about the cup run as I prefer to concentrate on finishing in the top two of the league, but because of the shenanigans that went on in our last game, I want to win against PNE and am expecting a feisty affair.
