How many times have you watched Burnley ?
Just saw this on Twitter, not sure if Tom Whittaker is on here but these are all the times he has seen certain teams play live and got me wondering if any of you know or have a rough idea how many times you've seen us play ? He watches a lot of football !!

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
I'm well over 2,500 for league and the two main cup competitions.
and the team I've seen us play most often away in the league is Preston.

I'd be keen to know but wouldn't know where to begin to be honest. I'd bet either Preston or Man City is my most frequent away trip though.
Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
It’s from the Futbology app. It’s really good. You basically tick off each game you go to. It’s got a huge database so you can delve way back in the past to tick off games you went to many moons ago which in my case is 1988.

If these are only Clarets matches then you must have hardly haved missed a match for the last 55 yrs.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 10:49 amI'm well over 2,500 for league and the two main cup competitions.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
If I really lowballed this and average it at 25 games a season for 28 years it would give me a figure of 700. I’d guess that my stats would be similar to the OP

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
I have Fubology. According to that I have been to 1380 Burnley games. There are 3 registered Burnley supporters on there that have done more than me.
I did a bit of work in the summer adding friendlies from past years to make it more accurate but there's still some missing. The under 21s have a separate list so don't count in that number as well. My most visited ground watching Burnley is also Deepdale with Bloomfield Rd close behind

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
If we don't count TV games, I would guesstimate around the 700 mark, that's from being a ST holder early-mid 70's for a couple of seasons then from 1994 unbroken and maybe 2 or 3 cup/away games a season.
Bizarrely the team I've seen us play most away is probably Grimsby as a company I worked for many years ago used to sponsor them and had a box there so I used to get invited now and again as the resident Clarets fan if they couldn't fill it with clients!

I think I am a true supporter but since 1950 I will have missed several hundred despite holding a ST 1961-62 and every season starting 87-88 season.
So CT True supporter
MDD a supporter

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
Do you keep a record( programme, ticket stub, match report) of the games you've attended, CT? I've often wondered how many games home and away I've seen us play and how many miles I've covered. Think my brother's first game was either 1950 or 1951( 7 years before mine) so I'll mention this to him next time I see him.
A bit easier for starters might be games where I have arrived at the ground only to find out its been postponed or abandoned. 2500 is an astonishing amount, around 40+ per season.

I wouldn't dare hazard a guess how many times Burnley's biggest fan Hutchy has watched us.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
I class myself as a true supporter, but will only be around1500 games. I've started missing more home games due to holidays becoming more important than football nowadays.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
Two of them in 2022/23 were because I had covid. I missed the murdering of Preston and the draw against Watford. I also missed the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield in the previous season for the same reason.Claret Toni wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 3:50 pm...and how many of those were because of COVID, I wonder.

I have been going since late 50s but missed a couple of seasons when John Bond was manager.Used to go to away matches more years ago.Would think I have seen us a minimum of 1500 times.

Wont be going to a lot more now as I have given up my season ticket from next season.I have sight problems and the night matches plus LED screen make it difficult for me to see the match clearly.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
Well done CT! I’d hate to guess how many matches I’ve been to……….started around 1970. Season tickets since mid 70’s. Bury and Rochdale seem to stick in my mind as frequent visits for some reason.
More to the point tho is……..
Can anyone hazard a guess at how much spent being a Claret…….over the years, including shirts etc……….i recorded it for one season about 5 years ago……….
No chance did I share that figure with my other half!!!

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
My dad took me in 1960 and I was immediately hooked. I loved it then and I still love it just as much although it frustrates the hell out of me at times. I've met so many people through being a Claret and made so many good friends too. There is nothing better, it's special.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:05 pmThere is nothing better than walking down to the Turf at 3pm on a Saturday. I think I was sat behind him when he went on his first game against Rovers in the cup and the ref gave them a dodgy pen when we were 3 up ,my dad had to restrain him because he was going to run in the pitch and chin Brian Douglas ,but we noticed he had a blue and white shirt under his coat.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
Over the last 14 seasons I’ve only been to 15 games. But my overall total is 1,309
I’ve only ever done one full season. That being the 4th Division championship winning season. My next best is our first season in the Premier League. I only missed Chelsea away, I was in Kolkata at the time.

Re: How many times have you watched Burnley ?
I’ve missed two and a half home games in 50 years. When we got beat by liverpool to get relegated from the prem. The 5 nil when Barnes scored all 5 was it against Stockport ? and half a game v Rochdale - long story !
Worst game - Hereford 6 nil
Best game - lots but, the equaliser by Keane against Boro - it was like a bomb going off !
