Absolutely buzzing with that team tonight.
Thinking anything that shows Parker is really going for it.

Not our strongest team imo
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Who would you favour? Humphreys for Pires maybe? Otherwise I'm pleased. Is Humphreys injured? Doesn't make the bench.

Does it? It’s like for like again. Pires for Humphreys and Edwards for Foster.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 7:01 pmAbsolutely buzzing with that team tonight.

I’d like to see a formation change. We should be able to blast these out of town with two up top.

Benching Foster seems harsh, but he’s not been at it recently. Hopefully he’ll sub on and score a brace.
Looking forward to seeing Edwards.

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
At the risk of sounding a bit negative our front three of Anthony, Flemming and Edwards looks a bit lightweight with Flemming up front on his own. Please prove me wrong and score some bloody goals. I’ll be setting off for a Goodies Bar in ten mins. Come on youuuu Clarets.
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Fosters general play has been OK but it's a team lacking potency up front. Hopefully Edwards can help offer the final touch we have lacked all season.rosswallacefreekick wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 7:03 pmBenching Foster seems harsh, but he’s not been at it recently. Only two defenders on the bench so he has plenty of scope to go through the gears if it’s not working.

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
That’s our formation
But the choice of players allows a much more attacking style of play.
Edwards on the right and Anthony on the left is our best attackers in there best positions (arguably for the first time this season).
Edwards will be up against a 34 year old left back tonight, expecting him to run riot.

I’m glad he is starting edwards. I want to see Parker be a bit more pro active tonight if it’s still 0-0 on the hour.

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Evening everyone.
Looks to be some clear indication that we're going to trying to get after them tonight with the inclusion of Pires and Edwards, and I'm hopeful this is Parker loosening the handbrake a little.
I would be at the game tonight but my brother's Wednesdayite uni pal has come to see him and I thought I'd do the right thing and sacrifice my ticket for his sake. He weighs about 7 stone pizzle wet and is an accountant so I'm not anticipating him getting a whack for 'giving it large'

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Don't mind Laurent starting with Cullen to get control of the midfield and it works if we get early goals ( Hull ) . If we haven't scored or aren't winning after 60 minutes , I'd like us to see one of them replacing with a more forward thinking player ( maybe Shelvey ) . Utc

Evening all
It's good to see the moaners are out again already before a ball is kicked. FWIW I think that's a pretty decent lineup ( with the exception of Humphries who has possibly picked up a knock )
UTC !

Hope I’m wrong and happy to admit it if so!

Unsurprisingly the Clarets+ stream audio is a mess - glad it's on Sky tonight. It's so so embarassing.

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Not the perfect starting line up but Im happy with this and think we'll win comfortably tonight and I think the way Parker has set his teams out this season has been very good.
My issue tends to be when we are struggling to break teams down and how Parker uses his subs. I dont think it will be needed tonight but if we are level after 60 mins then what Parker does is where from me he'll get support or stick.
If he's true to form his safe subs would be Brownhill for Hannibal and Foster for Edwards which would be like for like hoping fresh legs change something. For me if we need to make changes to win the game it needs to be Brownhill for Laurent to go more attacking and then Foster for Hannibal to go two up top. If Edwards is struggling then its Benson or Sarmiento.
Hopefully we dont need subs to win the game but if we do and Parker makes safe like for like subs and we dont win then its on him and its what I think might cost us automatic. If we see a bit more adventure in his substitutions then I think we're the team who Sheff Utd and Sunderland have to beat as behind Leeds we are the second best team in this division and thats where we should be come the end of the season
