Pathetic and Embarrassing
No, not our slightly disjointed 1st half performance but our lack of support. All you can hear is Wednesday fans. We are 3rd in the table and still well in with a shout of automatics.
How about making some noise and getting behind the lads, especially now we are 1 up. No wonder we are so underwhelming at home.

Don't think you can put this on the fans. Did you watch that half?

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
Fans have been on the players' backs from about 5 minutes in. It hasn't been great but that's hardly going to help, is it?

Totally agree, Im doing my best to encourage the team from my sofa but the so called fans on the ground seem more concerned with jeering than supporting the team

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
Sadly, too many either watch the game or check the stats for the sole purpose of having a go about Parker on social media because they never backed him from his initial appointment.
They love wallowing in negativity and self-pity, searching for anything that confirms their negative bias. They go into every match just looking for reasons to criticise and completely ignore anything positive.
Really negative people - I just feel for those who are close to them in their personal lives.

I always love threads like this. This isn't one of those abstract ,"someone should do something about that" type shouts, it's literally something you can directly influence.
Get up, stand up, have a go. Do it long enough and loud enough and people will get involved.

Getting behind the lads isn’t going to improve the formation.
It just isn’t.

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
I watched Bayern v Celtic mid week and despite Celtic scaring Bayern when really Bayern should be smashing teams like Celtic at home their fans were constantly jumping up and down singing throughout everybody is just having a good time.
English football has changed too much now atmosphere is rubbish compared to foreign games, we should in the in ground 15 mins before kick off creating an atmosphere and keep in going throughout

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
Have you ever tried? Is the formation we're the envy of most teams in this division and 3rd? I have a mate who's a Bristol City fan and believe me they'd love to have what we've got instead of flirting and struggling to get a 6th position playoff spot, something they've been trying for for years!!!!
Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
Not there tonight as I’m at the Velodrome watching nationals, but let me guess…
We are the long side…Burnley on repeat?

Give it a rest with the relentless negativity you boring ****s. We won 4-0. The fans were fine. Shut up.

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
It's been a long week at work for some people I don't think you fully appreciate just how tired some people are. Being quiet isn't a sign of lack of support it's down to fatigue & people unwilling to shout their heads off. Good luck to the wednesday fans if they managed to muster up more of a sound.Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:51 pmNo, not our slightly disjointed 1st half performance but our lack of support. Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
I don’t think we are amazing at the minute atmosphere wise but anyone thinks we are going to get going after 40 minutes of being that bad you need to check yourself
No ground in England would have been buzzing with that
It happens - we were poor but after that second goal the crowd was fine and surprisingly Sheff Wed went silent
Most fans only sing when you’re winning

I thought this was a thread about the goal music … what a sh1tshow , it seemed to ruin the actual celebrations.

Strange night thought we were dreadful up to the 2nd goal. And ultimately passing the ball round in your half for an hour isn’t going to get the crowd going as we’ve learnt.

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
One of the sad things about a town our size attracting crowds of 20k ...
We all want to see glory but might not appear so partisan.
We also know the antidote is to win by 10, each game.

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
This board is pathetic and embarassing, I'd say, in its general support and positivity for this team and manager. There's clearly a sense of 'can't wait for this team to fail and pounce'!

Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
I thought the vocal support tonight was tremendous. Yes Sheffield Wednesday made a great effort at singing but we kept going at our singing. It was a bit subdued mid first half as we got bogged down by their high press. Once we went ahead, and certainly in the second half I thought our fans were brilliant.

A semblance of realism wouldn’t go a miss though Dvalleydvalley69 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 9:41 pmHave you ever tried? Is the formation we're the envy of most teams in this division and 3rd? You’re comparing Bristol to Burnley. Our squad is valued nearly five times more than Bristols and our wage bill is nearly treble.
Off course our expectations are higher.
Re: Pathetic and Embarrassing
My comment was about 'the formation' argument though. It shouldn't matter what the formation is - we, as fans, should back the team, whatever. If it ain't going great guns then get behnd them even more so to give them a boost. We're going over the same arguments - we think we should just be on top of everyone, but football isn't like that and players are not robots regardless of squad value, how many years in the Prem we've had, etc. It's the old entitlement business again. Just get behind them and stop complaining is all I'm saying! It might work, it might not. But seeing as we have a supposed better team/squad then I'm sure a bit of encouragement would get them to snap out of a poor period in a game because as the subs suggested it wasn't a formation issue because we played the same way and got a quick 2nd goal and coasted it from there!!Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:20 pmA semblance of realism wouldn’t go a miss though Dvalley

Are you the only person at the Turf able to get signal during a game, or let me guess you were sat at home typing this?Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:51 pmNo, not our slightly disjointed 1st half performance but our lack of support. Some people are behind the team but a deep seated paranoia prevalent is preventing some people from doing exactly that.dvalley69 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 11:29 pmMy comment was about 'the formation' argument though. Don't we just love to slag our own fans off on this board, or for that matter, the town, the nightlife, the accent, etc. Just about anything in fact. Give it a fkn rest.
