I thought it was a nice gesture to not over celebrate what was in fact an extremely good goal today. Unlike Danny Ings last year.

He was excellent today, but I thought that said far more about our players than Robbie tbf. He was never great for us and he's way past any sell buy date, but was still taking the P out of our second string. Mmmm! Best player on the pitch!

I think Brady and Defour not getting injured may have meant we finish 6th rather than 7th in the Europe year. He was pretty good that year.

How good he still is - no chance, he wouldn’t get in a team chasing promotion, a shadow of the player he was sadly, hence why he’s having to ply his trade at Preston. Still deadly from a free kick mind.

I thought he was a bit disappointing overall for us but he was always capable a good free kick. I fancied him to put that away yesterday. As said above he didn’t overly celebrate which was a nice gesture.

Wasn’t he? At the time of the big injury he’d become a key player for us in that fantastic season. Who knows where we’d have finished had he and Defour remained fit.

Personally thought he had a pretty mixed spell with us.
Cost a lot of money but I thought at the time he was a really exciting signing. Great free kick against Chelsea on his debut but was clearly unfit. Was that not the only free kick he scored for us ? If not there must of only been 1 or 2 more.
Seemed to be really unlucky with injuries but his was enjoying undoubtedly his best spell with us when he got injured in the Leicester game was it ? That spell was only a few months though and after he had recovered from injury we went back to the stop start and pretty underwhelming stuff - albeit possibly on the back of that bad injury.

He played well enough yesterday but part of that was because we were so poor. He was on the bench for them a couple of weeks ago in the league against us and in the previous seasons he’s been there he’s not looked great and don’t think he would get anywhere near the squads we have had since he left us. Though ironically I’d rather have him at left back now than Pires who I believe to be nowhere near good enough.

Agree with this. Him Defour and Wood were all playing really well and all got injured over a similar period if i remember rightly and we went on a dismal winless run without them.

I have never understood the boos Brady has sometimes got from elements of our fans. He didn’t choose to get injured. He is a decent wing back now at this level, disciplined, hard working and has a decent delivery.

Baffling sometimes - McNeil got it at Goodison last season. Makes no sense to me.

I think we should reflect on this attitude. RB before his dreadful injury was part of the most successful team we have produced since the 1970's IMO. Not only was it successful BUT very pleasant to watch. Two big ifs but IF Brady had not been injured and Defour not ever more than 90% fit; what a season we could have had. Sadly Robbie was finished that season after just 15 games and 25 of the 54 points we won that season and was never the same player afterwards.

I thought Brady was good in parts for us but a touch limited for what we needed at the time as a Premier League team. However, the biggest concern and most frustrating aspect for me is that someone who we considered 'surplus to requirements' is, let's face it, a significantly better player than a lot of the dross that we have wasted money on.

I think this when I look at some of the players we've had upfront in recent years - Vokes, Ings, Austin, Wood, Gray etc, light years ahead of the offerings we've had there over the past two/three seasons.

He played with an edge yesterday, without being 'dirty' and for me was MOTM. Preston has done tremendously well keeping him relatively fit during his time there and should be commended.
