Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Parker’s Promotion Bonus
The latest social media golden nugget from what I’ve read on various platforms is that Parker wasn’t interested in the game yesterday as he’s on a bonus for promotion.
I would hazard a guess that every manager is on a bonus for promotion. Thought this latest Claret social media conjecture was quite an odd one.

Must all be kosher if it's on social media.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Was mentioned on the player's rating yesterday
obviously he will get a bonus for promotion, who would think otherwise

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
I think people are looking for too many angles on this. We put out a weak team that hadn’t played together with a poor midfield, unfit players and an underperforming striker along with poor tactics and set up. We got punished for it.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
He will definitely be on a mega promotion bonus but it’s debatable if he will get one!
I went to PNE and that performance was up there with my biggest disappointments watching BFC for 62 years including Newcastle in the semi final at Hillsborough.
I think the senior management and manager showed no respect for the competition, club and fans.
I know this is the wrong thread but I’ve only just joined this forum , but what is in Parker’s pockets? He stands there hands in pockets , emotionless most of the time, compare him to other managers in championship and PL , there is little or no emotion or passion!
Just my opinion

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
It wouldn’t surprise me if Parker and Pace had agreed (before yesterday) it’s not a priority, if we get lucky at Preston we’ll take it otherwise rest some players for the league.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Of course he’ll have a promotion bonus in his contract, as will all of the players.
I’m sure they’ll also be a bonus clause for winning a cup or getting to a certain round as well.
He picked the squad he thought would do the job. Whether they’d played together in a competitive game before is irrelevant.
It’s not the fact we lost, it’s the manner in which we lost
The players should have been professional enough to have put in a performance and not just just rolled over and had their tummy’s tickled by PNE

These stupid comments weren’t made when Ternent and Dyche clearly had no interest in cup competitions.

If yesterday's game had been a league match, I'd be very worried.
But it wasn't, so I'm not.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
I’m sure Dyche got a bonus for keeping us in the premier league, when we were embarrassed by Lincoln at home

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
The lack of goals in our starting X1 was disastrous but the only changes he could have made to improve it were Flemming and Edwards.
I’ll take promotion any day over a Cup QF against a PL side.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Well let’s hope the “first X1” get 3 points at Cardiff, otherwise, for me it’s the playoffs, and I can’t see us getting through those this time.
Or indeed, getting a win against Sheff U at home.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Has there been a single chant for Parker since he joined? Can't say I've heard one. I know it's been boring at times, but we've a great chance at going up.
How about a change to the Mike Jackson one...
We've got super Scotty Parker,
He knows exactly what we need,
CJ at the back,
Flemming in attack,
Burnley going to the Premier League

But in all honesty, are we? I very much doubt it. Still plays with the handbrake on.up_the_clarets_1989 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:45 pmHas there been a single chant for Parker since he joined? Can't say I've heard one. I know it's been boring at times, but we've a great chance at going up.

Points…. That’s what’s in his pockets. You can oompare him to the 21 below him.Jack00_00 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 11:44 amHe will definitely be on a mega promotion bonus but it’s debatable if he will get one!

It’s the 2 above him he’ll be judged against and rightly so.

Absolutely they were after I travelled to Watford, and a round trip from home for Lincoln at home.

Re: Parker’s Promotion Bonus
Of course the priority is to aim for promotion, and don't all the 1st team staff and players stand to get a bonus for achieving it?
But it's hard to believe that the game was basically thrown.
Preston were miles better, simple as that.

Of course they were, but Ternent and Dyche also had a lot more credit in the bank than Parker.helmclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:17 pmThese stupid comments weren’t made when Ternent and Dyche clearly had no interest in cup competitions.
