Preston fans
Just look at the state of this -
https://www.pne-online.net/forum/thread ... s.3441731/
Thank god this board is well moderated.
We let ourselves down on the football side yesterday but my god Preston didn’t half show themselves up.
“Are you watching Hannibal” chanted at the end. I know every club has its knuckle draggers but everything about PNE yesterday raised the bar in that respect.
They’ll lose comfortably in the next round unless they fluke one from a dodgy bounce off their non-league pitch. Will make it a little bit sweeter down the line I guess when we beat them in the games that matter.

Preston fans enjoyed cheering on a racist and denigrating the victim. Sad where football fandom can take people.

If it was the other way around, a large section of Burnley fans would be responding the same way.

I live in Preston, for my sins, so naturally been getting some jibes, but most proper PNE fans are embarrassed by all of this. Our recent history is not blemish free and it’s fair to say we wouldn’t like it if all our fans were tarred with the same brush.

It's aways funny when Preston attempt to get some fake rivalry with us.They are always beneath our team in every sense.Spot on decision by SP
Promotion is the aim not a meaningless cup game against our wannabe rivals
10 min bragging about a rare win for PNE is all it's really worth. We won't beat them next year because we will be up in the Premier league a place PNE fans can only dream about UTC

Well we certainly have our own d***-head fans. A couple of coked up idiots tried to kick us out of our seats, before realising they were on the wrong row and then one of them spent the game screaming abuse at Koleosho until he was literally red in the face.
Fairly confident the FA will rule in Hannibal's favour and their idiots will live in denial anyway.

Ladt 8 of the FA Cup is worth fighting for. TV all over the world. Big focus will be on PNE as the last 'minnows'.

Let PNE fans have their day in the sun. They’ve had nothing to cheer for 10+ years.
I don’t work with any PNE fans, but if I did, I would complement them on how much more up for it they were.

Re: Preston fans
Mentioned to one of the lads with us yesterday how it was a little surreal walking out onto the stand to a chant of "you racist bar steward.... You know what you are" 15/20 years after walking out onto the stand at an away game and getting racially abused by our fans.
Hopefully this is a change in our fans and shows a change in society as well. Preston always have a weird rivalry with us probably brought on after the years of us not playing those down the road. It was refreshing to see our whole stand chant against racism though and we're only a decade in from the "my old man's a racist" chant which was regularly sung all over the country by our fans.

We don't know this was a racist comment and were the shoe on the other foot many of our pea brained supporters would be chanting similar stuff. Re: Preston fans
I have lived in Preston for the best part of 50 years and with regards to the two main topics we are discussing, after speaking with some of my PNE supporting mates, they are determined to stand beside Osmajic, until he may be found guilty of racism.
The second is that they cannot believe how straightforward the game was for them yesterday. To quote one of my mates after the third goal went in. “I think I’m dreaming.”
That comment says everything about our performance.

Only two people in the world know exactly what was said, we all know what we think he said and I personally think he did say something racist but I very much doubt he'll get done for it.
If it was a court case it'd be thrown out because it's just he said this he said that, it cannot be proven.

As Heckinbottom originally said, however distasteful we may have found, just a case of he said, she said. Let’s hope not.
Re: Preston fans
If they have another active camera angle in the ground it’s more than possible they can get professional lip readers in to give their opinion. And then the FA work off the balance of probabilities, it doesn’t have to be proven beyond reasonable doubt, simply, what was the more likely? Hannibal’s immediate reaction, the story from the players, Osmejic’s background / character etc.bumba wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:49 pmOnly two people in the world know exactly what was said, we all know what we think he said and I personally think he did say something racist but I very much doubt he'll get done for it.

Re: Preston fans
I doubt any stories from the player's will hold much credibility they are always going to back up their team mate as we saw yesterday with the refusal to shake hands. He was in close proximity & when I looked at the footage he had his neck down I couldn't even tell if he was even speaking let alone trying to fathom out what he was saying there's no way a camera covers that. If the FA had anything really compelling it would have been done & dusted by now.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 2:03 pmIf they have another active camera angle in the ground it’s more than possible they can get professional lip readers in to give their opinion. Yes. For sure he said something, owing to the immediate reaction. As you say, the other player denies it. No one else heard it. Inconclusive. No action.bumba wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:49 pmOnly two people in the world know exactly what was said, we all know what we think he said and I personally think he did say something racist but I very much doubt he'll get done for it.

Re: Preston fans
I used to manage at kid’s level from under 7,s to under 16’s and I had a brilliant lad that played all the way through for me. He was a great kid and a fantastic footballer. He’s 23 now and a fantastic young man and now a Police Officer.
We got talking about the Hannibal incident yesterday.
Like Hannibal, he’s a person of colour and he mentioned that he was called racist names many many times on the football pitch when he played, more so at school.
I said to him why did you not report it and he told me he did once, at school and nothing was done - it was just laughed off !
My point being CLEARLY, something terrible was said to Hannibal, his reaction was pure shock. However, IF nothing is done about that thugs comments then it just proves that it’s perfectly fine for these thugs to abuse people about their colour because, simply nobody cares and therefore, no action so what’s the point in reporting it ? Exactly like Hannibal did !!!!!
I feel terribly sorry for Hannibal and after that conversation with the lad yesterday I just wished I could have done more for him when I was managing the kids teams back then.
I now have two young grandchildren and I don’t want them seeing footballers bite and allegedly - I have to say that word - racially abuse another footballer on a football pitch. It’s simply wrong on every level.
Again, I feel so sorry for Hannibal and just hope that thug gets what is coming to him - over to you authorities !!!!!

Re: Preston fans
Very easy for Preston fans to draw comparisons with the j rod incident.
Also fair enough for people to highlight the ‘previous’ of both Shelvey, and also our fanbase. The plane at city for eg, and tbh it’s not an awful long time since I heard really racist widespread chanting at ewood (early 2000’s granted).
Ultimately I’d guess a fair few of our following would take the approach of Preston fans on there if the roles were reversed.
I would say this though, Osmajics antagonising of the fans yesterday surely can’t help him with an FA panel. Think from his track record it would be really hard to argue the guy is anything other than a proper moron. If there was a way of establishing exactly what was said, and if it did turn out to be what Hannibal heard (and I’m pretty much certain that Hannibal is convinced something racist was said), I’d really like to see this lad out of the game. There clearly is nothing endearing about his character.
Hats off to our players for their stance on the handshake. They wanted to make clear to Hannibal he has their support.

Not well over a month it took 31 days which you could call a month. Apparently Suarez account of what happened was deemed unreliable hence favouring evras version of accounts. All I'm saying is that if it was that clear cut it would have been concluded sooner the reason it isn't is because the FA don't really know what to do. They have to be seen to be doing something & taking racism seriously but can't just charge people willy nilly on a whim.

Not really surprised by some of the comments on clicking the link.
It is only a few days ago on there someone was wishing Hannibal to have his leg broke and another one using the N word with plenty laughing about it, the moderator on there decided to hide the posts and allow the users to carry on.

Are you forgetting that it wasn’t that long ago that Hannibal deliberately stamped on an opponent’s leg? He is far from an angel himself. I have got no truck with racism, however let’s not start saying things like let’s get this lad out of the game.Indecisive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 6:24 pmVery easy for Preston fans to draw comparisons with the j rod incident.
