Is it just me who has questioned for years how Robbie Supple gets the starter gig at big meetings? How many has he made a mess of the starts yet again so far this week. There's two there in the 1st facing the wrong way when he lets them go, effectively ending their race before they even passed the starting tape, it's ridiculous!

I think that he was a referee in a past life

Not only does he consistently do what you have described but he also will abort what seems like a perfectly organised line for the hell of it and make the jockeys turn and line up again. In a three mile chase. He is a first class muppet.

They've even had to interview Supple live on air after the first race to explain himself such was the audible growing ire of the crowd who then loudly booed at the start of the second race and gave an ironic cheer as they were allowed to go first time in the third race

The punters have had enough of him too it seems

Just as aside does Ken Pitterson ever pick a winner when he casts his "expert eye" over the runners in the parade ring. He's been doing the job at least 5 years and I can't remember a single one

It's always a case of "cheers Ken" if he picks a horse you've backed. He could pick a horse in a one horse race and he'd still not pick the winner. It's incredible he's still employed

Masaccio couldn't quite do it for Niall, but ran a great race. One of his other horses, Dickens, did however win at Hexham. Plenty of emotion at both courses.

Gibb's Island runs for the syndicate I'm involved with in the 1st race at Cheltenham today ( Triumph Hurdle). The front 2 in the betting will take some beating but he's a very promising prospect and it wouldn't be too far a stretch to see him get a place ( currently 25/1)
