What a difference a month makes.

Post by Firthy » Sun Mar 16, 2025 9:15 am

As the title says. Look at the difference in results for Leeds from February to March. Shows what a difference confidence and pressure can make.

February: Games W-5 D-0 L-0 Goals For 18 Against 2 and included games against Sheff Utd, Sunderland and Coventry.

March: W-1 D-2 L-1 Goals For 5 Against 4 and only team in top half was West Brom.

Just shows how supposedly easy the final fixtures are it isn't really going to matter. It will be down to condifence and handling the pressure.

Pressure and expectations are the main problems at this stage of the season. It's the manager's job to try and reduce both from the players. I think the game against WBA was a good example. We were expected to win but the Baggies are a very well organised team and made it very difficult. This is where the fans have to help and not heap more pressure on the players with moans and groans. The players looked very calm and composed yesterday away from Turf Moor and got a great result.

In general we look a better team away. You do have to wonder how much impact the fans are having at home.

The usual horse sh1t about our home support here.

Turf Moor is just like any other ground, other than the total plastic clubs.... the crowd respond to what's served up to them...the self-flagellation on here is pointless and repetetive.

Little to do with the fans, more to do with teams shutting up
shop at home, which we have been finding difficulty in dealing with.

We're the only team unbeaten at home all season so it seems a bit odd to dig out our own fans on that basis. As others have said, the teams we struggle against are those who dig in and play for a point- teams are much more likely to do that away from home.

We'd have the best atmosphere in the country if everyone who slags our fans off on here went to games making noise.
