Once upon a time a very rich man misguidedly spent all his money on a football club. He spent more money than anyone or any club had ever spent before - anywhere in the world. He ruined football for generations. Inevitability his team won the league, he bought all the good players, no one could compete with his money. He thought this was winning the league - actually it was just a simple purchase.
The club barely exists now, their mercenaries have gone and they live on memories and lots of chicken and think back to the time they outspent everyone.

genuine question ...

is ''uncle jack's'' legacy either:

a) spending millions and buying the league

or

b) in doing option a above, he created the most self righteous, entitled and deluded fan base just about anywhere

just asking.

They’re having an absolute meltdown on Twitter. Want the manager gone already and have started a campaign to contact all the major Indian journalists to let them know how much they want Venky’s out, like they’ll give a shiny shite.

Bturds forum is comedy gold. There's one joker on there saying no fanbase anywhere has had to put with or been through a worse situation than what they currently are ...

Erm, I think we did you fckn spoilt brat and many more have been through it.

'We've gone from English champions in the early 90s to this' another one bleats, ahh diddums.

How does being English champions in 1960 and then surviving on the very last day of the season at rock bottom of the 4th division some 27 years later grab you, you deluded fckrs.

Oh and then slowly dragging yourself all the way back again, to finally play in the top flight, making do with a team that cost a fraction of all the others.

We did it ithout the use of huge amounts of other people's money, which by the way is exactly the reason you find yourselves up shi-te creek right now.

They really do have an over inflated opinion of themselves. It's both a bit weird and hilarious at the same time.

5 in a row at Ewood, 15 years and counting.

First question. Did you live through that period of seeing Burnley winning the title in 1960 through to seeing the decline to rock bottom of the 4th division? If the title win was before you were born, then you can't make a valid comparison as you did not personally experience that high and then the terrible low.

In any case, from what I see, the Rovers fans are not complaining about their decline from 1995 to today. Their complaint is about 2010 to today. That's the comparison, so title winning doesn't come into it.

Second question. Imagine IF Burnley had been an established Premier League club for 20 years and in 2010 had finished 10th in the Prem. Six months later Pace and Co buy Burnley with the help of shady agents, they take the club down and keep the club down for the next 12 years, doing nothing to reclaim Burnley's Premier League status...would you be an effing spoilt brat for being angry at what they have done and for demanding they **** off?

Third question. When Burnley suffered that decline from 1960 to 1987, were the owners and custodians of the Clarets during that time people who did not give a **** about Burnley and who were not arsed about climbing back up the Leagues? If the answer is no, the situation cannot be compared to Blackburn Rovers from 2010-2025.

No club has ever had owners for this long who do not give a **** about the club, the damage they have done, being out of the Prem and being happy to stay away from the Premier League. The Rovers fans, players, managers like JDT/Eustace are all baffled as to what the **** is going on. They all want/wanted promotion, but the hierarchy doesn't.

Every championship has been in the PL and are struggling to get back

Add

Oldham
Bradford
Charlton
Barnsley
Bury
Bolton

And many other clubs

You are a rovers fan and you are acting extremely entitled

Some fan bases are just better equipped at dealing with the lows

Rovers are nowhere near suffering as much as other bases

It’s surprising that Rovers appoint an excellent manager - one with a long term plan who”ll bring a new way of playing, rather than the physical (to be polite) approach of Eustace- and then want shut after a week or so.

Or perhaps it isn’t.

Honestly Hutchy. Ive been a little bit disappointed with the last few seasons under Venkys too. After the demise to league one they managed to polish your turd enough that it managed to compete at the championship for a couple of seasons. Fortunately they've done polishing and your now about to drop back to where you belong with your good new manager. Enjoy.

Not denying that other clubs and fans have had bad times, but the set of circumstances at Rovers over the last 15 years and what the fans have had to put up with is pretty unique. Unique relative to expectation. Unique, in that knobhead owners hold the club hostage and keep it in limbo, allowing opportunity after opportunity of promotion to deliberately pass them by for 15 years! That's the difference between Rovers and those clubs and what their fans feel.

Of that list, I think we can say only Bolton and maybe Charlton were established Premier League clubs. The expectation at Oldham, Barnsley, Bradford etc is not Premier League football, even though they played in it very briefly. It is the expectation at Blackburn though and rightly so, as they were firmly set in the Premier League right up until Venky's walked in.

The other clubs mentioned have had some crap owners, agreed, and some rotten situations to deal with. However, relative to Blackburn's size and reputation it is not entitled or spoilt to demand that Venky's take the club back to where they originally found it.

Have you thought about what league you would be in with let’s say an average owner?

Or let’s put things another way, if Walker hadn’t pumped his money in you would be delighted to be on the position you are in now..

I really hope it is true. This is the kind of situation where the Authorities and the player's unions step in to ask wtf is going on.

This could be the beginning of the end for Venky's, if true.

In any sport you always want a fair match up and at present, Burnley will beat Blackburn 99 times out of 100. All because of Venky's and the damage they have done. When Blackburn are back to full health that's when those games and wins will be really special.

Almost twenty years they spent as a Premier League club. Firmly established as such when Venky's bought the club in November 2010.

Why is it wrong for their fans to have Premier League football as an expectation based on the above?

It's not as if they just had two fleeting years in it.

Again, mention Blackburn Rovers anywhere around the world and people respond with "Premier League".

That's for a reason.

"What a ridiculous situation it is that I actually dare to hope it might be true just because it would surely be the beginning of the end for venkys. I dream of the first match under new owners."

You can see the queue of potential buyers lining the M65, hoping to be the lucky ones to pay off the Venkys the £230 million they're owed, just to please 12,000 horse fiddlers.
Then spend another £100 million on getting a team certain of promotion back to the promised land, where despite the Prem Money, every penny goes on trying to just attain 17th spot.

Every club has it's share of blinkered, entitled fans, but that lot down the road are away with the fairy's.
It's brilliant.

Because Hutchy, you were never in a realistic position. Uncle Jack bought a fantasy, not a reality, he bought and paid for a dream, but it was never, ever sustainable. The dream died with him, and back to reality. Only you sad muppets can't see it. You're punching above your weight and can't appreciate it.

You need to get your head around the fact that if Walker was alive today, he couldn't repeat his act. FFP and PAS would mean you'd still be struggling, only you wouldn't have these ridiculous ideas of grandeur.

The PL has moved on massively since 2010.

Even if the Venkys never arrived you still be in this position today. Look at the clubs set up like Blackburn. Bolton and Stoke. Old school managers, buying aging, been around the block players, with 1 or 2 young lads. Repeat each season until the rest of the league evolves and your luck runs out.

Like the last two seasons under Garlick and Dyche

You've not been promoted because you've not been good enough like 17 other teams every season...

You're owners keep on top of your debt so talk to Bolton fans having to sell fish tanks and bits a bobs to pay the bills when they went broke ...

Speak to Cardiff or Sheffield Wednesday fans changing team colors a hiking prices .... Telling them they don't matter

Bradford city getting 16/22k fans every week in league 2 and nothing to show for it .....

You haven't had it any worse than many many teams

Your pain is your pain but it's nowhere near worse that other fans have had to endure

Perspective

Nobody under the age of 20 will know they even exist. Old news. League 1 again soon. It’s bloody marvellous to witness it happen again.

You spent those years in the PL being financed by a very rich man, ahd elevated way above your natural level. Why should your expectations be to maintain that once he popped his clogs and his family decided to wash their hands of it?
