What sort of crowds do they get normally and on an international weekend.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 10:30 pmThere will be a big crowd up on Saturday with it being international weekend.
Never seen their attendances so no idea what numbers they get, think only club who's crowds I have seen mentioned are Bury and their numbers were impressive.

In a league where 100-200 is a normal crowd. Padiham get 200-250 now they're doing well and that should increase to around 500 on international weekend.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:05 amWhat sort of crowds do they get normally and on an international weekend.

I would think they are the smallest town in the league with a population of around 9k. Certainly compared to Bury and Isle of Man etc..
Re: Padiham FC Thread
I'd always assumed for some reason Padiham got decent crowds. Between 200-300 is about what Colne get.

Re: Padiham FC Thread
These days 200 would be the minimum around 300 to 350 on a good day and 500 on a very good day which I expect this coming Saturday. Its become a well run community club in contrast to years ago one there would only be a handful of people watching.I would encourage anyone at a loose end to attend Saturday where I expect a good atmosphere and a good day out if the weather is nice and it's half price for Burnley season ticket holders which will be £3.50 UTS

Padiham won 3-1 against Squires gate in front of 545 fans.
It was a bit closer than 3-1 with the Padiham keeper saving a penalty.

My next door neighbours son in law scored for Squires Gate today.
Went on Ramsbottom Utd v West Didsbury & Chorlton, 540 on to see the Rams win 1-0. Kick off was delayed for 10 minutes to allow time for the crowd to get in. Why they only open 1 turnstile for some games is beyond me. Poor game, pitch was very dry and bobbly.

I was at Wythenshawe Town today to see a 2-2 draw against Atherton Collieries. George Boyd scored Wythy's 2nd goal & was excellent. He even gave me a quick 'Up The Clarets' as he prepared to take a free kick

Another away win for Padiham on Saturday 2-0. All the top 6 won so it's as you were.
Big game for the Storks on Saturday as they get to play at Gigg Lane.
Colne have got out the relegation spots but Nelson were beaten by 2nd place Atherton, so it looks like play offs for them now.

Re: Padiham FC Thread
Macclesfield thrashed Blyth Spartans five nil on Saturday, the Spartans having already been relegated for the second successive season last week to Tier 4.
Spartans are in serious financial distress and to his credit Manager Robbie Savage organised a collection among the Macc fans and Directors & raised £400.
Up here in the north east I sense that Spartans are not the only club up against it financially and I suspect one or two will go tits up this summer as costs running a club escalate but income stays the same or declines.

On the bus home now.

Bad day for Colne, slipped back into the bottom 2. Couldn't believe Bury aren't promoted yet. 106 points with 2 games to go but Lower Breck are pushing them all the way.

Genuine question? I’ve tried google but it’s inconclusive. Which league/division will Bury, if promoted, go into? Thanks.

They will go into the Northern Premier League West. There are 3 divisions at that step; East, Midlands & West which feed into NPL proper. Clubs currently in the NPL West include Clitheroe.RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 7:01 amGenuine question? I’ve tried google but it’s inconclusive. Re: Padiham FC Thread
Another loss for Padiham yesterday as they limp to season end.
They need to get a bit of form back in time for the play off games, with just one league game left.
Colne are relegated bar a miracle of a 13 goal and 3 point swing on the last day.

Re: Padiham FC Thread
Padihams 2 all draw today means they play Ramsbottom away in the play offs.
Colne got relegated despite a win.
Nelson lost their play off game on pens. I think their keeper missed their 11th penalty.

Re: Padiham FC Thread
It was Max Cane who missed the last pen, not the keeper. Euxton's keeper scored their last one.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 5:22 pmPadihams 2 all draw today means they play Ramsbottom away in the play offs.

A test they unfortunately failed, losing 0-2 to Lower Breck so no promotion for The Storks. Having their captain sent off early in the 2nd half obviously didn't help their cause.

Tall order to get promoted with only 1 automatic place. And a team like Bury in the league.
Re: Padiham FC Thread
To be fair Lower Breck deserved to go up having got more than 100 points in the regular season.

Hopefully the Storks can challenge for the league title this season after 2 seasons losing out in the play offs, with no clubs with an unfair financial advantage like Bury thered a few teams in with a chance.

Been a cracking player for Padiham, and scored alot of goals for a center half.

If they win the first 2 FA Cup rounds (Good chance) then the Isle of Man game will be moved as its FA Cup fixtures that take priority that weekend.
