Tarkowski with a good old fashioned proper ball winning tackle but is probably lucky to avoid a modern day red card.

It wasn't 'very bad' or 'cowardly', IMO. He came in with force, but won the ball as clean as you like well before the opponent got there.
I can totally see the argument for a modern day red card, and if the ref had sent him off it wouldn't have been overturned, but that kind of tackle is what football is missing.

It was a great tackle, but it was a choice to put his studs through the bloke's leg afterwards. Can't really believe they've not sent him off.

Tarkowski does that tackle most weeks. He's genuinely dangerous and cowardly is the exact word to use. He knows what he's doing, and he does it in situations where he knows he can't get hurt. He will break someone's leg some day and still people will say he won the ball so it's OK.

Theres a difference between he should have been sent off and he could have been sent off.

Could he have been sent off for it? Yes
Should he have been sent off for it? Maybe, but on one of those rare occasions the officials have used common sense in that it wasn’t out of control, malicious or intended and it was his momentum after clearing the ball

We saw those challenges often enough from Tarky whilst he was with us, one in particular against his current employers.

We weren’t saying he should have been sent of after those.

Dipped into Derby v Nobenders during HT and Eustace has had a rotivator on that cabbage patch pitch. Won’t suit our passing at all.
Derby 2 up. Looking for 4 straight wins.

Rubbish. The raising of his boot after playing the ball was both malicious and intended. Very lucky fella to still be on but one where VAR won’t overrule the ref.

Premier league, corrupt as…
The only reason not to give that is corruption. There is no other reason. How Mac Allister hasn’t broken his leg is a miracle. A true horror challenge.

The day that kind of challenge is legit will be the day that players like Benson, Anthony and Edwards will no longer have a place on the pitch.

We say our referees are awful but that clown at Liverpool is worse than any we have had and the guy on VAR is dreadful
Most obvious red card and a leg breaking tackle
Hope both are denoted to League 2 for a month

I’d like to hear an explanation from the VAR team as to how Tarkys tackle wasn’t a red. Doesn’t that prove the point that’s it’s down to opinion rather than the rules. It’s shocking.

That kind of challenge has been legit since football was invented until about the last five years, and even then it's legit in most of the pyramid, and most players at all levels of the game don't suffer career ending leg breaks and most pick themselves up and carry on playing. Just like MacAllister did.

It's certainly a modern day red card, I'll not argue that, but it's not even against the spirit of the game never mind the content of the laws.

Should be offside. This interfering with play rule needs looking at. Tarks has to challenge due to the offside man. That's enough to have affected it for me.

Why wasn’t that offside. Played a pass to a player in an offside position. The games lost to the law makers.

Yeah the way the rules are applied in some of these situations is awful in my opinion. That should never be allowed as a goal but there's been lots of them over the season.

These poor decisions are also supported by the new measures of not flagging an offside until the player touches the ball.

It's been an exceptionally poor change to the rules.
