Tonight's footy
Re: Tonight's footy
Whats their solution btw? They're all shouting for Venky's to leave but what after that? Who's going to fund a top half Championship budget with a League 1 fanbase? Fan ownership will mean living within their means and this lot have shown they want nothing but overspending.
No one in their right mind wants to buy a debt riddled unsustainable football club from a town thats not particularly big nor wealthy, with a stadium thats a white elephant, with a small and incredibly entitled fanbase. Do they think they are Wrexham mark 2 in the waiting?
Its all gonna end in tears and no less than they deserve. Keep abusing the owners and their stooges btw, thats gonna achieve the desired results.

Re: Tonight's footy
At least they won 1-1 at Turf Moor so their season hasn't been a total disaster.

They don't seem to get that bit. They don't realise that the club is worse off without the Venkys.Johnny L wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 8:39 pmWhats their solution btw? Naive inbreds, chanting the Venkys out. They might as well chant for liquidation.
What a half of football. Delicious.

The gap between us and Rovers is vast. How on earth they managed to stay in playoff spot is a miracle. Rovers look like a club on the slide.

Re: Tonight's footy
That was a blatant own goal, totally changed direction but it was given to the attacking player. I've quite a few of those obvious 'own goals' given to an attacking player this season, has the rule changed?

Would have much preferred him staying at Rovers and attempting to take points off our rivals.

They are and Sheffield United are playing Rovers last match of the season, if you hadn’t noticed, and now are a shocking team unlike when Eustace was their manager.
Re: Tonight's footy
You could replace the likes of Hedges, Pears and Hyam with cones and you’d see a marked improvement.

Therein lies the problem.
They really could bite us on the proverbial when they capitulate to The Blades on the final day.

In all honesty, I think Sheff U will be Champions anyway, it’s Leeds that we are going to overtake.

Re: Tonight's footy
They're trading losses are around £375k a week, they sold their training ground a couple of years ago and the sale of Adam Wharton and Sammi Szmodics has kept them above water since, with Venky's ability to send further funds being hindered by ongoing Court procedings ..Johnny L wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 8:39 pmWhats their solution btw? Re: Tonight's footy
3 or 4 lads barely old enough to remember them being a Prem team holding up a banner "Venkys are killing us"
They are keeping them at the level they are at by pumping money into a big black hole. Yes they are spending it badly but they are also paying the wages of players they could otherwise barely afford.
Does the entitlement get handed down through the generations over there?
Does the fact we are so superior at the moment affect their psyche I wonder? The fact they are light years behind us now really really grates them. They just can't handle it and it just adds to their discontent with Venkys for not funding them even further beyond their means

Honest opinion, on tonights showing. They haven’t got one player that would make our bench and we have 3 or 4 more unavailable that are better.

Re: Tonight's footy
I am the first to admit my error in wanting Whittaker ,he looks dreadful and miles off his best of two seasons ago .Conway is a poor man's Naaki Wells and scores as often. But according to the commentary the Smoggies are a team on the up. Lmao

The commentators were drooling over the first half Boro performance, they obviously didn't take in to consideration who they were up against.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 10:41 amI am the first to admit my error in wanting Whittaker ,he looks dreadful and miles off his best of two seasons ago .Conway is a poor man's Naaki Wells and scores as often. But according to the commentary the Smoggies are a team on the up.
