To a large extent he’s taken us back to what we were under Dyche with the way he runs things.

A modern manager, with old school values and no ego unlike a few of our more recent managers.

Taken a while for the great unwashed to get onboard, but they’re here now I suppose.

Different result today and they would’ve been endless…. “Told ya we should’ve got Frank…”

Delighted with Scott Parker. Built something here, almost from scratch. Easy to see how he’s got two sides promoted from this league already.

He's been very impressive, we're cooking now, and we deserve to be top.

We were rightly saying similar things about Kompany when we were one of the most impressive Championship sides there's ever been.

But the Premier League is a different beast. Hopefully we get to see Parker manage us there.

Something that set Burnley FC apart from so many clubs, that indulged egos, had a mercenary streak, and were disconnected from the fans and community.

The Ramsey video and the one before on the traitors showed that the team is thankfully full now of good characters. It’s huge for football clubs.

That implies that it wasn't before? Have fans forgotten the Championship season under Kompany? As for last season - it was rubbish. But we're seeing this season how difficult the Premier League is for promoted sides. And it's little wonder that morale drops when the wins dry up.

Plenty of those values were completely discarded last season. Starting places weee given, rather than earned. Whole team get together were spurned in favour of cliques, pragmatism and being Burnley were sacrificed for a managers ego. Getting beat is one thing, failing to compete and losing your values is a complete different matter.

Yes that Championship season was fantastic ... With a team playing as one.

We walked the division ... then it was decimated after promotion ...

Parker has had to rebuild that confidence again this season ...

No I don't forget the season under Kompany, but I won't forgive him for last season throwing players under the bus.

Let's not get carried away just yet. Nothing has been achieved yet. Celebrate all 3 games from today, but it's back to the grindstone, midweek at Derby, where we have it all to do again. The good thing is that Leeds and Sheff U will start to think that maybe 1 of them might miss out on automatic.
Sheff U and Leeds fans are now both starting to turn on their players and managers.
We need to continue with the steely determination.
Hopefully some doubting fans can now see the wisdom of bringing Bashley back. Our strength is our togetherness.
Hope we can all see the value of Joe Worrall, and I hope Nathan Redmond and everyone else feels a part of it all.

Not celebrating, where we end up is where we end up, but I’m delighted with how the manager has instilled what I would class Burnley football club values into this group of players.

Where are all the bed wetters now? (Corrected that for you based on the fact your post made it sound like you are a bed wetter. Sorry, I couldn’t resist)

Back to the matter in hand, I thought we were rock solid again today and we are clearly very tough to score against in this league. Deserved to win and thankfully we took our chances well. Still a long way to go though and 1 round of fixtures can change everything but we do have the momentum and 6 more wins now sees us champions! Fingers crossed we can keep edging these final games.

There's a bit of speculation there. Fans will never know what it was like behind the scenes last season. Kompany's decision to not play players like Taylor and Zaroury (for reasons unknown) seems to be a pretty valid one in hindsight. One's not getting into one of the worst Premier League sides in history and the other has been in and out at Lens after a lacklustre loan at Hull.

Like I said - morale drops when results are rubbish. Shock horror.

Team spirit was strong the last time we were in the Championship. It's strong now. Kompany also had to increase morale and rebuild a side when he arrived.

We don't know Parker/Pace's approach if and when we're promoted again. It seems an unfair comparison.

Hopefully we make it another successful season and we get to see Parker manage us in the Prem and maybe some lessons will have been learned.

But it wouldn't surprise me if we hear stories about "morale dropping" etc if/when we lose games in the Prem. It's what happens.

Hopefully the club has learned from last time. Individual players performances at other clubs are rarely a suitable display of what role
They would have played in a team unit. It’s why people like Scott Arfield, Pieter and Bardsley were important parts in a team, but moved to much lower levels when they left.

There was much more than speculation on players not being a unit last season. Hopefully Checketts has more of a say on building successful football clubs, you can’t just throw away the players, the togetherness and the values that got you there.

Of course it could still go either way in terms of promotion, but I've said several times already this season on here that he's worked superbly with the cards he was dealt and that hand unfortunately left him strong in many areas, but sadly light in terms of direct threat in front of goal. Thus he played his cards accordingly. In January he got the opportunity to maybe tweak his hand a little and he did by bringing in Edwards and that's transformed a bunch of extremely good nearly men into the real deal. Parker is a very, very astute, steely and calm manager and that's exactly what we need right now.

Yeah but, Fulham and Bournemouth fans said…

I’ve liked him from day 1. Dealt with a massive turnaround in the squad after a few games, set a solid base and then attracted a talent like Edwards in Jan to help us kick on.

Seems like an honest, genuine bloke and that’s what we need.

A section of the support did not want him and even after the remarkable feats this season branded him boring. The closest they can get to a bad word at the moment is saying he won't keep us up :D
Fortunately most of these supporters have since disappeared back into the woodwork!

Parkers done a great job, all season.

Ipswich will be going down with a similar number of points to us if not fewer with a manager who is all about galvanising players and team spirit by all accounts.

I am very happy with what Parker has done, but let's not kid ourselves about next season and the experience we are likely to have should we reach the Prem.

Regardless of whether we go up or not, or if we do go up and then come back down again, we've all had some great years with a succession of fantastic managers.

Stop bickering and just enjoy it, life's too short guys.

We are very lucky to be Clarets.

No bickering from me. His time at Burnley only really confirms what we knew already- he's a very good manager at this level. The Prem is an entirely different kettle of fish tho.

Well said-and it was again on show today, both during the game and after. He appears to come over as every players dad, such is the bond. For me Roberts signing a new contract says volumes about Parker-hopefully CJ to follow soon

Good point that and probably more evidence that we need to be signing some genuine premier league players if we go up rather than solely prospects from the championship and abroad.

Theres some real quality in the Championship if you shop wisely. Players who played in the Championship went forthe following fees- Eze @ Palace (£17m), Rogers@ Villa (£8m), Delap(on loan throughout the championship) @ circa £16m, Semenyo @ Bournemouth (£8m). All four are leading PL players now and just a few recent acquisitions from the Championship,. There are numerous more

Would you not have said pretty much the same thing this time two years ago when we had an incredible team spirit and Kompany was a media darling?

I’m loving the quite obvious team spirit and there are clearly some very good characters in the squad but was Parker not expected to win promotion this season given the resources at his disposal?

There’s 6 games left - plenty of football still to be played and lots of twists yet. Let’s hope we have enough to keep winning games of football.

He's done a great job and if he gets us over the line he'll deserve enormous credit.

The first 6 months of the season were all about laying the foundations, both culturally and tactically. I think the former came together quicker than the latter which resulted in some frustrating performances at times earlier in the season but the last 2 months or so have been outstanding.

But that has been built on a dressing room based on the right culture. Whatever the rights and wrongs of last season it's unquestionable that Parker inherited a bloated and dysfunctional squad in June and then was forced to rebuild it just after he'd done the hard yards last summer. To forge cohesive, unified dressing room in those circumstances so quickly was quite remarkable and huge credit to Parker as a leader.

TWENTY SEVEN unbeaten, only Derby, Norwich and Watford stand between Parker equalling the greatest ever undefeated run in our entire history.

There's still a way to go but I feel like we won't let this slip now. We've come good at the right time and don't look like dropping points, there's a real confidence about the team. Parker has been patient and it's paying dividends.

I think we'll go up as champions.

As I’ve always said, sorting a forward line out is easier than sorting a defence out. He’s nailed the latter and we’ve improved the former slowly but surely.

Still a lot of football to be played but today we put the other two on the canvas in the 6th round. They take a standing 8 count and we move on………

Agreed but they all bar Delap went into teams with a lot more experience. There's also a lot of flops from the championship. For example you've used Delap but they also signed Smodzics and Jack Clarke along with others who have been poor.

Unless there's really obvious PL ability like Eze and Rogers had then it might be better to tread carefully in that market.

The difference between VK and Parker is that everything that was exceptional at what VK did in the first season, was almost too good to be true-how long could that last. Of course we came down to earth within 2 games of the PL, then we saw the real VK-his treatment of players, his shiftiness at interviews, his refusal to change-I could go on. With Parker he has demonstrated to me, and maybe more fellow clarets, that he is a genuine humble guy, who has experienced huge changes in his playing staff, but has just got on with it and got the team to playing as a unit creating a huge togetherness with the squad. When Parker joined us I remember him saying he took time out of the game to reflect on his past career as a result I think we may now have a better manager than the one who tried it with Fulham and Bournemouth

I've said all season that I like Parker and the way he's handled everything, but that he'd never fully win the Burnley fans over... I think he's winning the Burnley fans over.

I don't think some of the negativity helped us earlier in the season at home.

I know the Parker doubters are still lingering in the shadows but at least they've been silenced. Remember when all the statistics proved we would fall away?
