Second in the table - the top part, not the bottom. Just saying.

hoping sheff come seriously unstuck before last game at home, because I could see rovers rolling over and letting them take the points as it looks like rovers are just lolling about safely in no mans lad mid table.

Good point on a night where most things went against us.
Laurence of Arabia would have had a hat trick.

Didn’t deserve the win. All of them were off their best and Derbys BIG defence had too much for us.
Onwards and upwards. We go again.

Just watched it back. We're incredibly frustrating to watch when chasing a game. Left it far too late to make a difference. Credit to Derby who had us in their pocket almost all game.

I see what you mean. Maybe it's a good job it wasn't played on the old Baseball Ground. We really would have been dragged down.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:21 pmI.meant same kind of game. They were uo for it, worked hard and battled and the pitch.made it hard to be fluid consustenty. Like Deepdale.
I think it's a decent point in the end

Was anybody else on here sat top right nearest the home fans?
I hope the racist scumbag that was stood on his chair shouting "fat monkey" & "All your stewards are pakis" from around the 70th minute, posts on here.
You soon shut up when a few of us told you to, my 10 year old daughter however made me take her home because she didnt want it to end in bother.
I drove home in silence, absolutely fuming so I hope you remember my face because i'll remember yours, you horrible coked up, skinny rat.
There was literally about 5 black Burnley fans sat within earshot of you, i just hope they didnt have their night ruined by hearing you.

You should report it to the club. Sounds awful.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 6:32 amWas anybody else on here sat top right nearest the home fans?

Some of the reactions on here….. I football team in the history of the game has won every game. That was a solid point tonight in conditions that were far from those that suit the team. But they battled, and fought for everything in a sandpit.
Win your home games and draw your away games and you’ll go up, and they’re still ahead of that curve.

Ive thought about it ever since, it was uncomfortable for everyone around us, I could point out exactly where him and his giggling mates were sat. In fairness, other than abusing Foster for the 5 minutes he was on (and whilst down injured) they didnt get involved, they were just off their heads.
Its the third time ive had to tell a racist to shut up at an away game, its just frustrating that theres still idiots like this amongst us, and like i say there was many non white Burnley fans sat close by, not to mention all the stewards.

It was a horrible game last night and I was happy enough with the point at the end.
I’ve seen comments that we didn’t try and win, but you have to acknowledge that Derby made it very difficult for us. Let’s not forget that Parker brought on a second striker. It could have been different but for the freak injury they saw that set up last all of 3 minutes.

Drum, flags, thunderstruck it was like a bingo card for some of the moaners on here last night.
Actually thought it worked well for them. They were noisy, and kept going most of the game.

It was actually funny how close it was to everything folk hate on here, the stadium announcer even did a big ''Come on you Rammmmmssss'' like the ''Lets here it for Burnleyyyy'' shout before kick off.
I agree the atmosphere was very good to be fair, one of the best I've been to for a while.

Every game we don't win it is because we didn't try to, this is part of the entitlement that has crept in to some.agreenwood wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:56 amIt was a horrible game last night and I was happy enough with the point at the end.

If on Saturday morning we were offered to get the same number of points from Coventry and Derby away as Leeds would get from Swansea home and Boro away there isn't one supporter who would have turned it down.
If you then asked them would they take 4 points more from our 2 games as Sheff Utd got from Oxford away and Millwall at home the result would be exactly the same. It isn't that long away there were posts that Sheff Utd would win all their remaining games apart from the game against us, (they have failed to win 3 of their last 5) the Championship has never been predictable and some need to accept you don't win every game in this division.

Re: THE SUPER CLARETS vs Derby County - Match Thread
Always feels a bit easier the next day particularly when Sheff Utd lost. Shocking pitch, a big physical pressing Derby team, the Eustace influence, all played their part in stemming our efforts. What worries me this morning however is Fosters shoulder injury, and lets pray its not too serious.Whilst he has not been scoring recently, his performances in the last half dozen games has coincided with some fantastic results for us

Re: THE SUPER CLARETS vs Derby County - Match Thread
I was sat with the Derby Ultras
(my pal and his son have season tickets and the son couldn't make it).
I have to say, they made a lot of noise throughout the game....but so did the Clarets fans. There was actually quite a respect going on despite the wind-up chants e.g. one of the locals said 'it makes such a difference to the whole atmosphere when there's some away fans making some noise'.
As for the game, the locals were incandescent with Bobby Madley who they thought gave us everything - ha ha. I said to my mate, looking at the pitch, have I been transported to the Baseball Ground circa 1975? He reminded me Derby have had no money, gone bust, been bought out by someone with not much money, got no money, covid, still got no money etc etc etc which all meant the pitch hasn't been re-laid since 2016.
We both agreed it was a dreadful game but trying so many long balls wasn't the way forward for us given the monsters they have at the back. The locals were beside themselves with a point....they were expecting a tubbing. Fair play to them - they were organised and disciplined and, in effect, played for a point (in spite of a a bit of pressure at the end of the first half/start of the second and a couple of one-man breakaways).
Anyhow, for me, it's a decent point, even if the whole affair was disappointing.
