Not much to say about the game after the first 20 minutes, so let's focus on the traffic. We got lucky on M1, the police literally pulled out one car behind us to stop all traffic for whatever reason, leaving us an nice empty motorway to drive into. We did wonder if any Clarets got stuck in that.

jdrobbo was coming down the M1 and was directed off - no idea what the problem was.

Derby proved that you don’t need a grass pitch when the ball is always in the air !!!

Definately a point gained.i also thought after twenty minutes that it would be a relatively easy 3 points and just a matter of time before we scored. But in fairness to Derby they learnt that the ball back to their keeper who was then pinging the ball over either of our full backs causing us to give away throw ins and corners was the way to play against us and it worked.
We were lucky to come out with a point in the end,we won’t play on a pitch like that again or tactics like that again this season I hope.

Excellent read.
I don't understand how Derby can have such a good ground and such a bad pitch ?
It really can't be intentional.

Was disappointed with the result at the time but in the cold light of day I agree that it's a point gained.

It now means that three wins and two draws from our last five games will guarantee promotion.

I don't think the traffic was helped by stoke being at home as well just down the A50. We did alright getting there. Getting back was a bit more of a challenge, didn't realise the m65 junction was closed off the M6 so had to go up and round the salmesbury way. Was about 0040 by time I got home

Home at 12.50 after a drop off in central Manchester.

A50.. M6

Missed the M6/M65 closure due to going via Manchester.

Seems the main issue getting past the first 2 or 3 miles from the ground was the lights at the roundabouts. Majority of the traffic coming from, and going in the same direction - yet 3 out of 4 entrances to the roundabouts were clear. Turn the traffic lights off, then the traffic would move!

Thx for the report as usual CT, I must say that I thought the stewarding was way over the top last night, there was a ridiculous amount of stewards in attendance, only needed about half as many.

Absolutely agree about the stewarding. My seat was on the end of a row and my foot was on the gangway as somebody was on the row that shouldn't have been. The head steward threatened me with arrest, I joked and said it they needed to sort the overcrowding of the row. Response was that wasn't their problem and I should squeeze in. Health and Safety. After half time I went to the safe standing back row unchallenged. Sorted.
