Yes, we'd be eight points clear at least for a few hours. Sheff United would have to therefore get nine points from four games, a very tough ask.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 11:06 amAs someone posted on another thread, if we win at Watford, I really can't see us not being promoted.

Match Sheff United's result in the next match and then beat them at the Turf and we're up.

5 points and +20 goal difference surely we won’t collapse like SU hope we can get it done over the next 2 games don’t want to be playing Millwal last to get promotion they are not a great team but are kings of a 1-0 win i fear them more than SU. UTC

They may well call up Sultan Kösen, who is the tallest living person on the planet, and they still won't beat us!Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 5:53 pmWe need to win at Watford, Wilder will play the tallest lads he has against us and just play for set pieces
Re: Win next two games and promoted
I'm more nervous about Friday now than Sheff Utd Monday, if we lose Friday and they win then the pressure ramps up on us for Monday.
A win and it's as good as done.

Re: Win next two games and promoted
Would take two draws right now to be honest would be happier taking it to QPR and Millwall in our hands.
Worst case is a defeat at Watford and Sheff Utd win as that puts their tails up and back in their hands as much as ours.

Re: Win next two games and promoted
In all this nobody seems to be thinking that a Sheff Utd loss against Cardiff, a possibility given they are fighting for survival, and a win at Watford basically means it’s all over (pretty much) before we even get to Easter Monday. 8 points clear with nine to play for is an immense ask.

Before you get too excited, just think,we have VAR to look forward to next season

Re: Win next two games and promoted
We certainly can’t afford to lose at Watford. If we do and Blades win on Friday it means they can go above us if they beat us. Even a point at Watford would mean they could not go above us after the game on Monday. Hopefully it won’t come to that

I can’t help having thoughts like these, but then I remember that we have lost two out of forty-two so far. Why on earth should we now lose two in a row?
To fail to finish in the top two now would be a case of bottling it. I see nothing in this squad of players, or our manager, to suggest that that is likely, or even possible.

Re: Win next two games and promoted
Me neither but Watford are a weird team you never know what you are going to get from them. They still have a very slim chance of the play offs ( same as Woevers) so a Coventry win tonight would be very usefullakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 3:51 pmI can’t help having thoughts like these, but then I remember that we have lost two out of forty-two so far. Re: Win next two games and promoted
Watford are currently 6 points off a playoff place ( 8 if Coventry win tonight ). With teams like WBA and Middlesbrough ahead of them, I think they are too far behind. They are not big scorers, they have scored fewer goals at home than we have away.
Millwall may conceivably still have an interest in the playoffs when we meet them, but I am confident that we will have sewn it up by then.

Don't think teams will roll.over. Norwich gave us squeaky bum on friday and their attacking last 20mins will be for all game in the pl. At least we held out.
We outclassed wilder united on boxing day and should be able to replicate that. Win at Watford would be a massive step to automatic

Re: Win next two games and promoted
Watford are missing their best player Chakvetadze as well as Baah, I'm more confident because of that but it will still be a tough game.

That is a plus. Hopefully, the fill.in players won't be trying to impress
