In the Longside it's either ear piercing or non existent.

Re: BL Tannoy
Its been off for the last 3 or 4 games. It certainly started before the international break.
It feels like you're outside the event and trying to hear what is being said inside. Just feels like they dont see us important enough to be able hear anything that is being said or happening.

Re: BL Tannoy
You should think yourself lucky. I was in North stand (upper) trying to have a chat with fellow supporters and we got blasted out with Mr Shouty & co. Way too loud for me!
Re: BL Tannoy
Pace etc sit in there so I doubt that. Probably just on its way out like everywhere else. Apparently the cost to replace it all is extortionate. It does need doing though, surely it's a health and safety regulation to have a fully working and clear tannoy system?clarets1978 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 9:41 amIts been off for the last 3 or 4 games. Bizarrely the Wi-Fi is better in the BL than in hospitality.pureclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 11:11 amAh new to the BOb lord are you ? you see we all have hearing aids / ear pods linked in so we get perfect sound

Re: BL Tannoy
Front few rows of BL can hear the PA clearer but it’s further back where it is impossible. All you hear is double sound from the BL speakers and the speakers in the longside (which must be extremely loud). Maybe therefore it’s audible in the directors’ box. It just needs the output in each stand to be balanced. Not a big task. Get some sound engineers in. Oh, and DON’T SHOUT INTO ANY MIC.

Re: BL Tannoy
The Tannoy is masked in order not to blow up the mass of hearing aids present in the Bob Lord. Unfortunately the technical option was very expensive so they stuffed the speakers with a few pairs of soiled shorts.
Re: BL Tannoy
It's only started in the past couple of months, so what's changed to make it inaudible in the BL?Whitgord wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 3:10 pmFront few rows of BL can hear the PA clearer but it’s further back where it is impossible. Re: BL Tannoy
Mr. Shouty is really annoying. Employ the guy from Anfield and give him a better sound system.
And bring back I'm Gonna Be or at least something to get the crowd going before the game.

Re: BL Tannoy
It's barely been audible all season in the CFS too. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on what we're listening to. Took me a couple of matches to figure out what the goal music was when it was introduced.
Apparently it costs a fortune to replace the whole system. I'm sure a 7 figure sum was quoted by the board when it was brought up.

Re: BL Tannoy
It wouldn't cost too much to have a Bluetooth transmitter which would allow hearing aid wearers to connect directly. The club seems keen to trumpet other help to people with disabilities, and, if JohnMac is correct in his assertion that there is a large number of people with hearing loss, such a transmitter would be a good thing.

Re: BL Tannoy
My understanding is that a different system is used for safety announcements. It certainly sounded a lot clearer during the .Hannover game.Fretters wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 10:05 amPace etc sit in there so I doubt that. Probably just on its way out like everywhere else. Re: BL Tannoy
This assumes that everyone has Bluetooth hearing aids, but also there won’t be many Bluetooth systems that will accept 1000’s of simultaneous connections. They’d just be better using an induction loop.Bullabill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:24 amIt wouldn't cost too much to have a Bluetooth transmitter which would allow hearing aid wearers to connect directly. As usual, a genuine question that has initiated a balanced and informative debate has been hijacked by narcissistic posters making judgements based on a username, not their post content.
Please note that I have not assumed that fatboy47 is a large gentleman in his late 7O's who rolls around Burnley wood with a scruffy Jack Russell attached to his mobility scooter. Or assumed that ecc is an acronym for east coast claret, who may or may not be the celebrated Scarborough flasher.

I think all your past political posts might possibly have something to do with it?
