Not done and dusted, but very hard to see us not being promoted automatically now.
Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
there's no chance we dont get automatic now
Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
They could have equalised at the end.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 5:04 pmNot done and dusted, but very hard to see us not being promoted automatically now.
Football's weird. We could have been two down at HT and then turn it round. They completely lost the plot.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
A very strange last 3 or 4 minutes. We'd kept the ball so well as you would expect against 9 players. Then we started hitting it long giving an opportunity for them to gain possession and get towards our box.
First World problem, I know but a bit frustrating.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
I think there used to be a plaque somewhere at the club marking the 30 unbeaten that said it was a record unlikely to beaten / equalled?

Heard my dad mentioning it many times.gawthorpe_view wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 5:33 pmI think there used to be a plaque somewhere at the club marking the 30 unbeaten that said it was a record unlikely to beaten / equalled?
Although back then, it was the record for many years, until Arsenal took it.
To equal it, is an amazing achievement.
To do it with such a young, newly put together side is astounding. Something very 'Real' for all Clarets to be proud of.

Vaguely remember hearing about the plaque. Thought it might have been in the amain entrance.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
It also makes it the joint eighth longest unbeaten run in the whole history of English football.
*caveat in this being that it’s based on an article from the other year about City’s run at the time https://www.iffhs.com/posts/3966

It was in the corridor leading to the changing rooms under the Cricketfield stand. I hope it is still there but it Donkey’s years since I’ve been down there.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 8:13 pmBrilliant!

It’s a quite magnificent achievement when you consider all the comings and goings at the start of the season.
Well done SP and the squad.

Is that the corridor 35 club members used to get to the old directors box seats?

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
Don’t honestly know… I think of the Directors box being in the Bob Lord as it has been since I’ve been going in the late 70’s. The corridor that runs the length of the Cricketfield (or did), used to be a little green door on Harry Potts way. it used to be the players entrance, Roy Oldfield’s room, George Bray’s laundry room and Jimmy Hollands physio room, a referees changing room; along with storerooms were all down there . I know they moved the “Remarkable Record” plaque closer to the entrance to the tunnel (before they moved the tunnel to the end of the Cricketfield stand. Not been in since then, I have always come into the ground from the the ground from Foulridge wreck/Towneley side so not really noticed how it’s changed.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 8:26 pmIs that the corridor 35 club members used to get to the old directors box seats?

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
I always thought that our record stood until Arsenal beat it, but according to this Leeds, Forrest and Liverpool beat it before then.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
Only Burnley and Arsenal did 30 in the same season. The others were over two seasons. Only Burnley of course have now done 30 in the same season twice. As its not Premier League I dont suppose it will receive much attention nationally!RickyBobby wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 10:48 pmI always thought that our record stood until Arsenal beat it, but according to this Leeds, Forrest and Liverpool beat it before then.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
Indeed, Petersa. Thirty twice within one season. An amazing record. We should all be proud. Now, make it three more, Burnley, preferably three wins, and let's hope Leeds drop points in one of their matches. Of course, if they want, Leeds can lose them all.

Re: THIRTY AGAIN TODAY.
A bit more information about the plaque and the original record.
I can't actually believe we've equalled this particular record, its an amazing achievement in moderrn day football.
