Walker got 1. Edged the spinner behind. Good bowl to be fair. Probably the only one out to a genuinely good ball

Burnley finished at 185/7 Slight recovery but probably not enough. House should have enough to beat Darwen

Darwen are obvious pre-season favourites for the League. Need the 'House bowlers to be at their best.

Dream start to the season for The House!
After winning the toss, we posted 231/8 from our 50 overs – Toxy Hussain leading the charge with a Lowerhouse best of 43, Charlie & Henri Cottam both hitting 33, and Pro Dan adding 27 in a great team effort (7 batters in double figures!).

In reply, Darwen never really settled – wickets fell steadily (shared across the board), despite their pro Keegan Peterson digging in for 61. They were eventually bowled out for 156 and The House took all 12 points on a perfect opening weekend!

Great win for Clitheroe 9 down when it looked like they would fall short.
A good century for ex Claret Alex Coleman for Hassy.

Looks like Rammy are struggling now.

The score site is showing Burnley as having bowled Ramsbottom out but the scorecard shows two not out batsmen and only 10 points accredited.

Couldn’t understand why Burnley were shown as 10 points when Ramsbottom were shown all out when I looked
Thought it was 10 for win plus 2 for bowling opposition out
Which of course it is
That is why I made an incorrect post earlier
Must have been a great game to watch for the Neutral
With the advantages going one way and then the other

Lowerhouse cricket was not at all easy on the eye back then. Those were the days when there were more splinters on the benches than bums, we used to cross over Liverpool Road by the canal just in case they dragged us in to watch ;)

Of course, we were just starting our 2nd century of, what we believed would be, not winning anything. I had long moved away by the time that 1st trophy arrived some 30 years later!

Showing as 172/9 after 50.

Some are saying they got the wicket last bowl.

League are saying otherwise.

Drama on the first day

The Lancs League website has now changed the scorecard. They had the number 11 b Erasmus and showed Ramsbottom all out. Now he’s showing not out and they are nine down.
