Promotion Parade date?
Is it likely to be the day after the Millwall game, or the Bank Holiday Monday?

I think we need to clear the date with Sheffield United so not to upset them.

Well it won’t be on the Sunday 4th as that is when they are holding the Charity Fundraising Dinner & Player Awards in ManchesterRosehill Claret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 6:11 pmIs it likely to be the day after the Millwall game, or the Bank Holiday Monday?

Re: Promotion Parade date?
Do we know why they are holding it in Manchester this year?
Are Liverpool holding theirs in Manchester too? Are Leeds having theirs in sheffield? Seeing yesterday how close the fans and the players are, it just would have been good if pace and the club were as close as the players to the town and the fans.

Tuesday 6th May
Re: Promotion Parade date?
It's been there for the last 3 years I think. Presumably as it's a charity do, they will get more corporate tables, and ergo more money raised.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 7:02 pmDo we know why they are holding it in Manchester this year?

Re: Promotion Parade date?
I don’t agree with it either, but it’ll be same reason as was held there last year, to raise funds for BFCitC.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 7:02 pmDo we know why they are holding it in Manchester this year?

Last year it raised £88k
Re: Promotion Parade date?
I can understand why, given the business that’s there. Also id imagine most of the players live in & around there.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 7:02 pmDo we know why they are holding it in Manchester this year?

Re: Promotion Parade date?
Surely we're just going to wait for the Championship Trophy Parade rather than having a separate promotion one beforehand?

It has been said in the past that they raise far more money at this event than any held locally, surely nobody can complain about it due to the extra income, which does go to local charities.

Re: Promotion Parade date?
Why not have it in London then? Or in Dubai? That would surely generate more money for charity if that is the main aim?
Maybe I am old fashioned but I just think having the awards night in the town itself gives it more meaning.
Re: Promotion Parade date?
So you're happy to see the charity miss out, just to keep it in Burnley?RickyBobby wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 12:56 pmWhy not have it in London then? Or in Dubai? That would surely generate more money for charity if that is the main aim?

You'd not go anyway even if it was in BurnleyRickyBobby wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 12:56 pmWhy not have it in London then? Or in Dubai? That would surely generate more money for charity if that is the main aim?

Events like this at the club with a pie and pea supper would not raise a 10th or the amount this evening normally raises.
It's a charity function, it's not for fans to come and do meet and greets with players.
Plus it's only 30mins away if you're desperate to go, it's worth the trip

Would you pay the £200 to go if it was in Burnley ?RickyBobby wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 12:56 pmWhy not have it in London then? Or in Dubai? That would surely generate more money for charity if that is the main aim?

Re: Promotion Parade date?
A Google search suggests in 2019 BFC held a charity dinner at Fence Gate raising 43k, as well as having the two supporters player awards nights.
2 years ago the Manchester charity dinner was held in March raising 66k.
Last year they combined the dinner with players awards in May and raised 88k.
If I remember rightly the players awards were up to £120 a ticket. The club must have earned a few quid from them?

Got my tin hat on...but I really don't think a Promotion Parade day is appropriate unless we win The Championship
! and have Trophy to show and celebrate.
Fantastic achievement on

For years the play-off winners got a trophy whilst the side who finished 2nd got nothing, thus they were able to celebrate a win at Wembley. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 12:12 pmGot my tin hat on...but I really don't think a Promotion Parade day is appropriate unless we win The Championship! and have Trophy to show and celebrate.

Yet the side often much better in second place couldn't celebrate as they had nothing to show for being a far better team over the season.
How daft was that?
Re: Promotion Parade date?
I don't think we should have a parade for finishing 2nd either, but probably will

A parade seems a bit lame if you don't have the league title to wave around

Re: Promotion Parade date?
The fine for a pitch invasion is hundreds of thousands??
The first quick search about previous fines showed Reading getting fined £7500 for a pitch invasion they got a game abandoned.

The LED boards in front of the CFS got trashed too, no idea how much they costBordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:26 pmThe fine for a pitch invasion is hundreds of thousands??

Guess they are talking about damage to the LED boards that wrap the two tiers and on the corner of Belvedere/Harry Potts Way cost £100, 000's

Re: Promotion Parade date?
Hope Pace has not spent the money on repairing them yet and realises that if we do win the league, it will probably be an event bigger pitch invasion against Millwall...
Re: Promotion Parade date?
Sounds like they are going to take action against some of those on the pitch on Monday, I wouldn’t be risking it.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:42 pmHope Pace has not spent the money on repairing them yet and realises that if we do win the league, it will probably be an event bigger pitch invasion against Millwall...

Think you get a trophy for 2nd?
The parade will happen, it's the town taking some reflective glory from the football team's success. Civic reception, show the town hall off and get people into centre.

I think because at the time it was a remarkable unexpected achievement, this time we've done what we set out to do.

Tbf, I can see where they are coming from.. no point us moaning about lack of investment when we are damaging 100k by simple being stupid, hopefully it will all settle down but id not be suprised if a few folk get pulled up if seen on camera.Loyalclaret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:36 pmGuess they are talking about damage to the LED boards that wrap the two tiers and on the corner of Belvedere/Harry Potts Way cost £100, 000's
