Since Millwall defeat

Post by FCBurnley » Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:18 pm

Our league record is
Played 31 Won 21 Drawn 10 Lost 0 For 46 Against 9 Points 73

Let that sink in

Also we effectively won promotion with the following 4 results

Leeds Away Won 1-0
Leeds Home drew 0-0
Sheff Utd Away Won 2-0
Sheff Utd Home Won 2-1

Goals for 5 Against 1

Points 10 Against 1

Amazing stats

If you want to look at it another way , we picked up one point with two games with Sunderland .

That still gives us 11 points from 6 games against arguably 3 of the 4 top teams

What is it with some posters?
Here we are, promoted back to the Prem and still they find room to complain.

Wow!
And we smashed records left, right and centre, but you pick up on a slight negative

He never is. I think he was just pointing out a fact. He's one of the most upbeat people on here.

I find this staggering:

We have lost two games in 44 and Sheffield United have been beaten in four of their last five matches.

It was a ying and yang way of looking at it .
Go back 5 games and I hoped either Leeds or Sheff Utd would slip up and let us in ,which happened .
I looked at the play offs and did think we would beat anyone over two legs apart from Sunderland which worried me , now if it was a play off final then anything can happen

But hey we have been promoted , that make you smile any time of day .

Imo after watching us win at Swansea going up was never in doubt and I still believe it will be as Champions. Bristol City will win or draw v Leeds and Argyle will win v Leeds. We of course will beat QPR and Millwall lifting the trophy on May 3rd.

We've lost 5 of our last 113 Championship matches.

Agree with that. I thought we were up after seeing us beat Swansea. They were on a decent run before that game and since that have been excellent…in fact they are above us in the form table on GD! But we made them look absolute garbage. This has been an extraordinary season which will rightly go down in history. The focus, professionalism and calmness under pressure has been unreal

I agree. Hopefully CT will do a stats special piece at the end of the season. These truly are once in a lifetime numbers. My father was born in 1920 and I was born in 1947. This puts breaking the 30 games without defeat into perspective I never considered it would ever happen let alone in my lifetime

Points per game over the full season, that would be 108 points!

The stats for this season are remarkable which ever you look at it when Kompany’s side won the championship they were said to be one of best ever championship teams SP side should surely be viewed in the same way, true this side doesn’t have the same flair as Kompany’s but the outstanding records they have created this season and could still create surely marks them down to be a great championship team!

As good as the Kompany team was I don’t think we broke any club or league records. This team has broken club records already and is poised for a few league records too.
