Away matches.
Away matches.
I have been a season ticket holder for the past couple of years.
as My grandson decided Burnley was the team for him.( With a little encouragement.)
This was after his dad decided he would disappear out of the kids lives. (i'm sure there's a name for that!!)
I have not been to an away match in over 30 years. So have no Idea how to sort out how to get the tickets or sort out coach travel.
As the little dude keeps badgering me to take him to an away match. I thought I had better ask just how you go about it.
Any one out there can give me a clue. That would be great.
Bare in mind I'm 62 and my head is starting to go. So thick old git terms would be appreciated.

Away tickets go on sale around four weeks before each game and the details are always advertised on this site.haitch02 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:34 pmI have been a season ticket holder for the past couple of years.

Various supporters clubs run away travel and again Accrington Clarets advertise and take bookings on here.

Re: Away matches.
As stated the details of ticket dates will be posted on a game by game basis, giving sales dates, prices etc
The thing you’ll have to consider is the points required to purchase. If you’ve only been a STH for a few years, you’ll probably not have enough points for the initial purchase days and have to wait until/if make general sale.

Re: Away matches.
Firstly, well done for making sure he has a good upbringing as a claret. Nothing more better than a grandfather and grandson going to the match!
To add to others posts:
- Tickets are usually put on sale about 4 weeks before. Look out for details of the sale dates on this site. Tony does an article and posts a link to it on the forum.
- Tickets go on sale on different days depending on how many loyalty points you have. If your grandson has only been going on a few years it’s likely you’ll have to wait until the day he can get a ticket before buying.
- Before buying online you need to get him set up on your account as a friends & family member. Do this well in advance if you haven’t already. Doing this will also tell you how many loyalty points you and your grandson have. I think there’s some guidance on how to do this on the BFC website or you can also contact the ticket office who will do it for you.
- On the day they become available to your grandson, log on (10am usually, but often put on sale earlier so start checking online from 9am), select two tickets and they will go to your basket. To get the child price you’ll need to assign it to your grandson when you get to the basket. It’s easy to do as long as you’ve set them up as a family member beforehand. If you have any problems call or visit the ticket office and they’ll sort it. I find it easy buying online though and am one of the few that has never had an issue.
- There’s sometimes an option for an eticket sent to your email or posted out. If posted, check your address on your account is correct, but it should be if your ST arrived!
- Around the same time or before, Accy Clarets put a thread on the forum about away travel. Post that you want two tickets, which pick up location and your name. ‘Leisure’ will like your post to confirm you’re booked. About a week or so before he’ll post what bus you’re on, so keep an eye out for that. If the tickets and the travel bookings don’t coincide, book the travel in anticipation of getting the tickets but let Leisure know if you need to cancel.
- Usually there are spare tickets for sale on here in the week before the game if there’s a particular game your grandson wants to see but you miss out on tickets.
Hope that all makes sense. Any questions just shout.

Re: Away matches.
Best bet if you are local next year is probably Everton or City.Liverpool tickets are usually as scarce as rocking horse droppings. If you want a weekend away Brighton or Bournemouth are a good bet .

Re: Away matches.
Unless you like boozing unfortunately there isn’t really an option for a coach to away games that just goes to the ground and back. The supporters club run a coach but this is usually fully booked by regulars months before the game.
I get running it is a difficult job but it just seems that the official supporters club care less and less every year. Would be good if the club took the running of the coaches over and took that weight off the supporters club as it really comes across that they can’t be bothered running coaches.
If you like drinking then all the other supporters clubs are fine and have a pub stop, and they also take more than 1 coach when the demand is there.

Re: Away matches.
Everton will be more difficult than usual I suspect because people will want to see the new stadium. Having said that, no idea what the allocation will be!Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 8:59 amBest bet if you are local next year is probably Everton or City.Liverpool tickets are usually as scarce as rocking horse droppings. If you want a weekend away Brighton or Bournemouth are a good bet .
