The song the players have in the dressing room by Natasha Bedingfield, should we adopt that before kick off?

We need a good rousing song from the 70s that all the ground can sing before kick off it seems to be a trend right now,any suggestions?

It'd be up there with "getting mauled by the tigers" and the accompanying gestures infamy. I'm not sure I'm down for that.

It has no connection with the club but I reckon 20,000 Clarets singing George Harrisons My Sweet Lord just before kick off would be quite a rousing start to the game.

Deep in the castle and back from the wars
Back with my baby and the fire burned tall
"Hoorah!" went the men down below

All outside was the rain and snow
Hear their shouts, hear their roars
They've probably all had a barrel or much, much more
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Over the hill with the swords of a thousand men

We had to meet the enemy a mile away
Thunder in the air and the skies turned grey
Assembling the knights and their swords were sharp
There was hope in our English hearts
Hear our roar, hear our sound
We're gonna fight until we have won this town

Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Over the hill with the swords of a thousand men
The knights come along at the end of the day
Some were half-alive and some had run away

Hear our triumphs in our roars
We're gonna drink a barrel or much, much more
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Over the hill with the swords of a thousand men

Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah
Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah, yeah

From the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool
to the shores of Sicily
There is a team called Burnley
A greater team there'll never be
to hell with Man United
to hell with Liverpool
We are the mighty clarets
the greatest team in the land

The Killers-Mr Brightside

When it gets to the chorus sing this:

Burnley
Is our team with history
Hear the Longside lullaby
Choking on an Haffners pie
But its just the price I pay
Destiny is killing me
But we just enjoy the ride
We are the Longside

Am I alone hoping they stick to Foo Fighters and "Times like these"

I, I'm a one-way motorway
I'm a road that drives away, then follows you back home
I, I'm a streetlight shining
I'm a wild light, blinding bright, burnin' off and on
Ah-ah-ah
It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again
I, I'm a new day rising
I'm a brand-new sky to hang the stars upon tonight
I, I'm a little divided
Do I stay or run away and leave it all behind?
Ah-ah-ah
It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again

MONEY TALKS - Neil Diamond

Money talks,
But it don’t sing and dance and it don’t walk,
And long as I can - have you here with me,
I’d much rather be - forever in Burnley

Honey’s sweet,
But it ain’t nothin’ next to Turf Moor’s beat,
And if you’d pardon me - I’d like to say,
We’ll do okay - forever in Burnley

This might be more suitable

If you want to hang out, you've gotta take her out, cocaine
If you want to get down, down on the ground, cocaine
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie
Cocaine
If you got bad news, you want to kick them blues, cocaine
When your day is done, and you want to run, cocaine
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie
Cocaine
If your day is gone, and you want to ride on, cocaine
Don't forget this fact, you can't get it back, cocaine
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie
Cocaine
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie
Cocaine
Cocaine

I really like the bones of this. I am sure with a few tweaks it could be a great anthem for the fans.

I know it has probably been overplayed somewhat over the years but it is still a great song and one that most people know.

It certainly gets the crowd up at the Darts for Nathan Aspinall. It looks amazing when the music stops but the crowd continue singing the song.

The Honeycombs- have I the right
Proper foot stomping song and the chorus fits in perfectly!

“ Burnleys Back, and we can bear it
We’ve got this song and we’re gonna share it
Burnleys Back
Right back where we belong “
I’m sure there’s some more talented wordsmiths, who could come up with better lyrics.

Not sure if any other clubs use it, but I could be wrong.
