New Kits 25/26
New Kits 25/26
Does anyone have any inside knowledge on how the new kits will look next season? (Cue "yes, the home kit will be claret and blue"). Assume we're sticking with Castore?

The same pantone of purple. Given the FAB minutes say that we’ve adopted this as our club colour (with no consultation).

Ah the fantastic FAB.
Not been as keen on the shade of Claret for this one as I had for the 2 that preceeded it.

Re: New Kits 25/26
I’ve seen the FAB notes posted in another thread, and there’s no mention of us sticking with the uber **** colours we were lumbered with last year.
Has anyone got a copy of these minutes so I may peruse them?
I’d love to know who thought changing our club colours was a good idea… then I could perhaps organise “bumping” into them to explain at length their mistake.
Claret and blue, not purple and turquoise. Feckin two-hats.

Re: New Kits 25/26
I don’t ever think there has been a fixed, default definition of “claret”. Haven’t our shirts always varied in shades of burgundy over the years?

Usually I'd say I hope it doesn't have a betting sponsor on the front. But this time I'd just be happy with it being claret and not purple.

They have, yes. I have a drawer full and they’re a right mish mash of different colours.
Have to say, I like the change each year. Gives each one a different look. I tend to prefer the darker kits for whatever reason, a colour preference really, but haven’t bought this years so obviously not that much.

Can't get too nostalgic about this, one of our favourite seasons, and indeed shirts, was the purple one from 1992.

Exactly, we've never had a fixed shade of claret. It's just another thing for people to be upset and moan about now however.
No betting sponsors next season is there, so hopefully the big bucks come from somewhere. Can they have vape and cigarette brands? Maybe have Elf Bar as sponsor or something?

Re: New Kits 25/26
Bring back the 2022/23 'classic football shirts' kit, best kit we've ever had IMO except for maybe that all claret long sleeve with 'BFC' crest kit from early 70's.

Re: New Kits 25/26
Could we rotate back to a light blue away kit? Not had one in a couple of seasons and had the other traditional change colours of yellow and white inbetween.
Surely not another black one (although I do like the current one).
If you watch the latest Keep The Faith episode the ladies comment makes a comment that she likes ‘the home one best’ at a possible photo shoot.

Seem to remember the club declared a particular Pantone claret as definitive under the reign of Kilby - not that we stuck to itGetIntoEm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:49 pmExactly, we've never had a fixed shade of claret. It's just another thing for people to be upset and moan about now however.

one more season of betting sponsors on the front of shirt is my understanding - then moves to sleeve

People can say they don’t like the purple but in reality there have always been different colours.
I think this years looks very smart, last years was honking, and the mix of colours on the 22/23 kit really nice.

NOOOO, a thousand times NOOOO, hooped socks were alright in the 50's and 60's but not now. All claret socks would look good, just my opinion.

Used to see them a lot more - Arsenal for sure, chelsea and west ham too I think, plus lots of others no doubt, but I don't recall seeing many recently.
There's a few with a single chunky hoop, but not proper hoops.

Re: New Kits 25/26
It’s grown on me. There were definitely times I didn’t like it. Think I liked it more after the 22/23 came out actually. I suppose tastes change.
It’s definitely one of the hardest to get hold of and most expensive though.
I should add regarding this years, I think it looks smart on the players but I’ve not bought it. Think this seasons are a reasonable three but haven’t had bought any.

Re: New Kits 25/26
I’d love to know how many units of each jersey they shifted this year. Have they lost their appeal, is it a change of fashion or is it price? All I see in our sections are black bubble jackets with the odd shirt scattered amongst them. Even watching WHU or AV the C&B in the crowd doesn’t stand out. I’d love to see a stadium full of C&B like Dortmunds yellow or Real Betis green & white.

On why people don’t wear shirts to games, I think it’s just a fashion/image thing.

Re: New Kits 25/26
I wear nothing but claret and blue hooped socks, I threw out my standard socks years ago. I get them in team packs of seventeen, since all my Puma kit socks faded and never have to worry about matching socks in the sock drawer. My other half bought me a pair of black socks for a wedding we attended… we were in the church before she noticed my colours

Never been this far out, not ever. I understand it’s not an exact science, but this year has been spectacularly bad. Claret and blue is now purple and turquoise. Not even close….GetIntoEm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:49 pmExactly, we've never had a fixed shade of claret. It's just another thing for people to be upset and moan about now however.

As far as everything else ALK is concerned, carry on Mr Pace - fine job so far, but leave the feckin colours alone.

Re: New Kits 25/26
The Umbro and Mitre versions of claret are the best in my opinion. I always thought the Puma and Errea kits looked a bit brownish.
Re: New Kits 25/26
Loved the Mitre kits, definately my favourite. Memories of wearing my new home top at the 1993 Ashes test at headingly and some drunk asshole burning a hole in the back of it with a cigarette.jetblackcat wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:45 amThe Umbro and Mitre versions of claret are the best in my opinion. That’s the second worse kit we’ve ever had. The first being the original “bird ****” strip it was modelled on. Don't care what variant of claret it is, as long as it's claret!
On the hooped socks debate - obviously a thing of personal preference - but I think they look awful. Glad we don't have them any more.

We might not have to wait quite so long this year to see the new kit.
