Final day dilemma

Post by Anonymous Claret » Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:18 pm

Would you accept beating Millwall and winning the title but the downside is that Bastards made the play offs?

I don't really like that shower of deluded, entitled shite down the M65 but I would still prefer to win the title and maintain our unbeaten run.

Does anyone disagree?

Win the title, even if Rovers sneak in Sheff Utd would batter them over two legs

No dilemma, silly question really. No burnley fan would hope for Burnley to lose - the only people who would sign that devil's pact are not primarily Burnley fan's, they are primarily haters of Blackburn Rovers - and why would they waste the cost of a ticket on following Burnley?

All I'm bothered about is winning the title.

Amusingly, they've been debating how they'd happily lose to prevent our auto promo v Sheff U. How ironic that we actually have the power in reverse.

Doesn't change anything.

Im not arsed who wins the title between Burnley and Leeds but I would like to see Blackburn get promoted. I think having the East Lancs derby in the top division would be something for both towns to be proud about

It’s not even close to being a dilemma, I’d love to win the title. Besides, Rovers will have to beat Sheff Utd and then beat them again over two legs to even get to the final.

With your DL connection you obviously don’t get the bitter rivalry between the two.

My vote is win the match. Every thing else will fall into place.
Bristol C at home to nobenders will win.
Coventry at home to Boro will win
Blades will beat basturds but it won’t matter.

Some interesting fixtures next weekend not least ours with Millwall needing a win to try and make the playoffs
Coventry and Brizzle needing wins to stay in play offs
Rovers and Boro needing wins to have a chance of playoffs
At the bottom end Luton Hull Derby Preston Stoke needing wins to try and avoid relegation. About half the league still playing for something.
Whereas in the Prem league with 4 games to go Champions and relegation already settled

Your 'half the league' includes the play-off race, but your Premier forgets that there is a race for the various European places. With 5 to qualify for the Champions League and 3 places for the various Europa spots that leaves half the league still playing for something.

Not even a debate , I would love us to win the league and feel Parker as much as anyone deserves that.

Re. Blackburn I’ve Blackburn supporting friends and wouldn’t begrudge them and their kids a Wembley trip. Actually would see another upside being it would be one less relegation slot to fight to avoid if they did go up. They are light years away from us really. The divide quality wise between the clubs is as stark as it was the other way in the late 90’s early 00’s.

Maybe it’s me mellowing as I get older. Just don’t have the ill feeling towards Blackburn.

There is no dilemma. Let's have Blackburn back in the Premier League alongside the Clarets. Imagine, Burnley v Blackburn as a Premier League fixture. That would bring plenty of spice for the neutrals. Just think how much happiness there would be around East Lancashire if both made it up. I'm all for that.

I would always 100% want Burnley to win, and I desperately want us to win the title (again). We are the most consistent side in the league, in my view, the best. To lose so far only 2 games all season when we had a brand new squad is absolutely crazy.

We took a while to click, but having been at Loftus Rd today and seen what I have leads me to conclude, we deserve the title over the side who haven't even scored against us this season.

Now why this is funny, to me atleast, is that I know many fans of the side down the road, I sometimes visit brfcs.com just for a cheer up, and the amount of them who claimed that they were going to let Sheffield United beat them the last day to stop "the Dingles" going up was significant. How ironic that we are now up and they need a chuck up off us!!!!

No doubt we'll be professional and put them to the sword. I have some confidence that out of the sides between 3 - 8 that they won't come out on top.

We'll quite likely do our bit though.

Blackburn getting promoted would be pretty funny. The great unwashed would all crawl out of the woodwork only to see Venky's pocket the money and them be relegated with a record low points total.

No let's not have them back in the top flight. They've had their time in the sun ****-ing jacks retirement fund against a back yard wall in lower Darwen. Let's have the bturds squirming in the brown stuff for decades.

Don't like them, don't care what happens to them. 200M in debt. You reap what you sow.

I couldn't give a hoot about others I want 3 points and the chance of the title with Leeds slipping up ...

If Sheff Utd capitulate thats up to them ... can't see Wilder allowing that though even if he is a Knob 😁

The scenario that is most interesting is if Boro are winning at Coventry (plausible), Bristol are beating PNE (near certain) and only Millwall can deny Rovers the playoffs if Rovers beat Sheff Utd (plausible).

If that is how the games are stacked, the interesting bit is what happens if Leeds are 3 up at Plymouth (assuming they win on Monday).

Lots of fans would then want our match thrown. I’m not one of them btw.

Watching their recruitment might be entertaining .... will the owners be able to resist travelling over from India for the " big " games, will they see it as an opportunity to get some of their £235m repaid ?

Even more bizarre, it's possible we might go through the whole 46 game season with just 3 defeats, but have one team, Millwall, do the " double " over us ... I presume Flemming is ineligible for this game ?

If Rovers go up to the prem it would likely make Derby’s 11 points look like a good season. Let’s just hope they stay where they are so that they can mind the gap.

Is there a scenario where Tards miss out on Play-offs in the 97th minute on goal difference as we win the title as Plymouth score a late equaliser (or winner) ... Now that would be a "If Carlsberg did football" moment 👍🤣👍

We win our game to try and win the title.

If Rovers get into the playoffs, we can enjoy watching them stuff it up themselves. Of which they are more than capable.

The only dilemma is if we prefer them to get absolutely tonked home and away in the semis or lose to an offside handball in the 99th minute at Wembley.

Win the league. Anything that upsets yaaaaarkshires third biggest club gets my vote. Imagine believing your own hype that the league is won, only for little old Burnley to scupper it.

Barstewards will be the architects of their own downfall, they just can’t help themselves.

Three points next week and crack 100 points again, hopefully winning the league. Blackburrrn won't win the playoffs, but if they do, that's bottom position sorted for next season.

The form of the teams occupying the play off places this morning might be as collectively bad as I can remember.

Based on the last 6 games, Sheff Utd sit 17th with 6 points from 18. Sunderland are 20th with 4 points. Bristol city are 9th with 10 points and Coventry are 15th with 7 points.

None of those teams are will be brimming with confidence when the post-season games begin.

I choose a Burnley win always. Especially when there's a trophy on the line.

Regardless of what happens in the Blackburn game it'll end up being hilarious.

I can’t honestly believe this is a genuine question/ talking point.

If you do not want Burnley to win / finish as high as possible your more of a fan of Anyone But Blackburn than you are of Burnley FC. Your hatred for them out weighs your love / support of Burnley.

Weird.
