Championship team of the season
Hope to see 4 Clarets in the team, JT, Steeeve, CJ and the skipper?

Re: Championship team of the season
Cullen is the best holding midfielder in the division but I can’t see him and Brownhill making the team and Brownhills armband and goals will swing votes his way.

Re: Championship team of the season
I am not sure what it will be, but for me it would be something like:
Trafford
Bogle CJ Esteve Firpo
James Brownhill Tanaka Solomon
Piroe ???
Struggling with a second striker as the likes of Sainz had a fantastic first half of the season then fell away. Flemming and Campbell have done great but haven't had the goal output to justify a TOTS place, I wouldn't have thought. I'd be half tempted to have one striker and put Hamer or Anthony in and move James into a forward role to truly get to something more correct.

Is Firpo better than Burroughs?

Been a dearth of strikers this season, so only going with one up top.
Bit biased I suppose, but Brownhill has to be in there for getting 16 goals from midfield

Amazing how Sainz and Sargent of Norwich, are right near the top of the chart, given the poor team achievement.

I suspect this is what it will be (although I personally wouldn’t have it this way).

Bogle, Egan Riley, Esteve, Firpo
Tanaka, Brownhill
James, Hamer, Solomon
Sargent

The EFL championship team of the season is officially:
Trafford
Bogle, Egan Riley, Esteve, Burrows
Bellingham, Tanaka
Sainz, Hamer, James
Sargent
Amazed Brownhill hasn’t made it

They don’t want too many in the team from Burnley. Flemming way better Sargeant imo

Re: Championship team of the season
Piroe will rightly be nowhere near this team. He won’t be unless the selectors are having a Leeds love-in.
Those that do the selecting haven’t seen anywhere near enough of us to select Cullen over Brownhill.
Tell you what I know… I see Brownhill missing from the team, I’m not drastically worried… I think a little rearranging can still see us being effective. I see Cullen missing, I genuinely expect us to struggle in the central areas. What he does, is absolutely CRUCIAL to our success.
Cullen should be the captain of the CTOTS.

Who? Brownhill - 4? Surely not.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 7:13 pmThe EFL championship team of the season is officially:

Re: Championship team of the season
Personally baffled by that selection
All about opinions, but -
Brownhill - 41 starts, 16 goals, 6 assists
Radoni - 42 starts, 7 goals, 12 assists
Bellingham - 39 starts, 3 goals, 4 assists
I appreciate stats can sometimes be misleading, but surely not by such a chasm?
The lad at West Brom, Styles, I'd have put at left back personally.
Hamer winning POY over Esteve and James - mind boggling.

Re: Championship team of the season
Apparently each team can have no more than three players, so if that's the case it would explain why Brownhill isn't selected.
