EFL awards
EFL awards
Live on sky tonight at half 8.
Do you think we'll win any of the main catageories?
Don't know if team of the season is also announced but who do you think will be in the 11?
I'll go
Trafford
Bogle Egan-Riley Esteve Burrows
James Brownhill Bellingham Hamer
Piroe Sainz

It's live on YouTube for anyone without sky.
Re: EFL awards
Full team:- Trafford, Bogle, CJ, Esteve, Burrows, James, Bellingham, Tanaka, Sainz, Hamer, Sargent
Re: EFL awards

Amazed Brownhill hasn't made that list.
Re: EFL awards
16 goals from midfield and can't get in. I wonder if they don't want to put too many players in from one team.
Re: EFL awards
Me too. One midfielder is there because of his brother.

Re: EFL awards
Interesting that Norwich have had a very mediocre season and yet have 2 players in there (and rightly so I will add).

Re: EFL awards
Tend to take more notice of the PFA awards.
Apparently the EFL awards are decided by an expert panel. It’ll be largely dependent on how much of the players they’ve seen. I suspect a lot is based on common narrative.
At least with the PFA awards, you know it should be based on players opinions on who they’ve come up against.

Apparently it's a maximum of 3 players per team.

Sainz scored nearly all of his goals before Christmas and Sargent has missed about a third of this season.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 7:22 pmInteresting that Norwich have had a very mediocre season and yet have 2 players in there (and rightly so I will add).

Re: EFL awards
Brownhill should be in it as should Solomon imo. Agree with inclusion of Tanaka, CJ, Steve, Hamer and one of Norwich players.

Re: EFL awards
Jobe Bellingham? He is not that good but fair play the Mackems will make serious money from his sale as he's a media darling.

I quite like that Jobe Bellingham, appears from social media I'm on my own.
Not sure how he will fair in the Premier League but you could say that about most of them in the team

Re: EFL awards
This max 3 per team thing is completely daft.
Re: EFL awards
Fair play to the Bristol Rovers player. What a touching story.

I can't find my glasses, how many Rovers players made it in considering they won the league in August ?

If that team of the season starts all 38 games together in the premier league, does it stay up?

Three or four would struggle to get in the Burnley or Leeds teams (Hamer the exception) so no it definitely isn’t strong enough.

Re: EFL awards
Correct decision for a record breaker and well deserved.
Love Esteve seems like he is bringing his missus while the two other lads seem to have their boozy Manc mate as a “plus 1”

Gus Hamer. Steve not even nominated

Re: EFL awards
I would have had James before Hamer.
Re: EFL awards
Hamer wins player of season.
Re: EFL awards
Some strange choices that's for sure
Re: EFL awards
Bellingham wins because of his name, no way Hamer wins POTS.

Re: EFL awards
Bellingham made more headlines than CJER, so not surprising, even though he's been outstanding.
Hamer is a headshaker. On his day he is a great player, but he also has days where he goes missing. Dan James deserved it more than him, and Traff deserved it more than anyone. On the brink of holding the most clean sheets in history, ever, and they don't pick him. Unbelievable.
