Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Bristol City look half decent so far, until they get anywhere near the Sheffield United box.

Didn't realise Harry Maguire was a Sheffield United supporter

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Why is there a premier league ref for this leg of the tie but not the first?

Born in Sheffiled and came through their youth system, nice when footballers go back and support. I think we've seen Dwight at the Turf a few times since he went to Everton

The game really needs a Bristol goal but they look toothless

Sheffield United haven’t had to be particularly good to get in front on the night. Bristol City are just very average.
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Goalie shirt was being tugged, shame that wasn’t spotted.

I still can't get my head around some of our lot doing that.
It was just so bizarre.

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Sheff Utd player had a massive grip on the keepers shirt. He's allowed to stand his ground, but that should have been called if the officials see it.
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Brizzle have a really small team and a keeper who flaps at stuff. A recipe for disaster against Kieffer Moore et al.

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Poor goalkeeping. But it's still a foul. Cannon has clearly been instructed to foul the keeper at every corner. I do wonder what the refs watch at set pieces, because that foul on the keeper was pretty obvious and lasted about 5 seconds

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
I put a cheeky fiver (well, more like £3.87 to bring my account balance to 0) on Bristol City to win the tie tonight from this seasons winnings at 50/1.
Could be a sending off in the first 5 minutes or something, you never know.
Anyway, I've just looked again now on Skybet, and I can't find in play odds of Bristol City to win the tie. I'm not going to put another bet on, obviously, but I can't even find where I could. So out of interest, what would the current in play odds be for Bristol City to win the tie?

One of, if not THE worst teams ever to finish top 6 in the Championship.
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Bristol looked like a lower league team in a cup game when they played at the turf

Good goal
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Bristol are going to be out of this tie if they’re not careful
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
I can’t believe Bristol finished in the top six, they’ve been shocking in both games, they’ve offered absolutely nothing.

Shame Millwall didn’t sneak in. They’d have given it a far better go.

Bristol should offer full refunds and free season tickets for those that drove to Sheffield to watch this gutless rollover

Very wise to not over celebrate though if it were me I’d have had them down the tunnel by now.
Best thing Coyle did for us, how we reacted at Reading away. Straight down the tunnel, more or less.

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Embarrassing, why?
They earned the chance to get into the play-offs despite being clearly the 6th best team in the division.
If you need to look at who should be embarrassed try the better fancied (and funded) teams that didn't make the play-offs.

Totally agree, we’ve celebrated every win this season more than that Coyle side did at Reading.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 9:59 pmVery wise to not over celebrate though if it were me I’d have had them down the tunnel by now.

Mate, they couldn'y even make 10 yard passes, they kept falling over, they didn't mark. They were ****
Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
They were 3 points closer to relegation than they were to Sheff Utd.

Luton’s implosion aside, there’s no denying that the ‘yoyo’ clubs like us are distorting the Championship.

Re: Sheff Utd v Bristol
Our style and panache will be missed in the Championship next season.Hopefully we will push on in the Premier league..The gap really has widened Bristol City made Sheffield United look like a class outfit .That alone takes some doing.
