Excellent idea but might I suggest Clarple or Purplet.

You must have better eyesight than me then because to me it looks pretty similar.
As mentioned by another poster the badge looks pretty much spot on.
It’s certainly not dissimilar enough for me to worry about anyway.

Re: Shirt colour for next season
It's really sad that no one apart from Rowls seems bothered about such a drastic change. Can't see many folk continuing to buy purple crap but maybe they will.
. Why don't they change the colour to orange go the whole hog try something totally different.

Its sad to see people aren't too bothered about keeping the clubs heritage. Crap shirt to go with the boring crap football, seems about right.
Re: Shirt colour for next season
I'm bothered. Strange to me that more people aren't. I understand people saying it's a subtle change but it's definitely more purple to me and seems a deliberate attempt to change the club colours and the badge without consultation or declaration. There are bigger things going on in the world but it'll be interesting to see the colour of the next home shirt.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 11:50 amIt's really sad that no one apart from Rowls seems bothered about such a drastic change.

Re: Shirt colour for next season
Thank you, I noticed it with that summer tournament they did that they just randomly changed the shirt colours like it was some new club. It isn't new and I found that disrespectful. I don't mind Foreign owners but I think they should be careful that people still feel a connection as long time fans, they need to respect what is already here, I don't think they are doing this with this particular change.Pickles wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 11:58 amI'm bothered. I agree it's not on the list of priorities to have a melt down about but I feel this should be talked about more. We're not just lemmings and let them know they cant just change things as they please.
They need to buck their ideas up and I hope they don't sell any if they continue with the changed colours.

The Blue shirt with two Claret hoops worn by West Ham in the 70s has got to be the worst footy shirt ever!

Everyone aggrieved by the slight change in tone
We didn't have American's running the club when we were founded...
No Claret in sight
This latest kit is 2 tone and deffo has Claret as part of it.

The 87-88 shirt as an away kit would be pretty cool, Vasco Da Gama-esque!

I suppose my point is that maybe so few people care because the kits are claret? Or most people are less eagle eyed? I hadn’t noticed a drastic shift in colour myself and would never have given it a second thought until I saw a few things online recently. It’s almost like now we’ve had a successful season we need to find something else to moan about, really.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 11:50 amIt's really sad that no one apart from Rowls seems bothered about such a drastic change. I’m not on the wind up, generally I’m a traditionalist, hence why I looked up what the colour claret really is and wanted to compare the kit and colour side-by-side because I thought I must be missing something. But I genuinely can’t see much different between the official claret and our kit. Not enough to be worried about anyway.
I accept it’s been a lighter shade over the years, and personally I wear old kits as a rule so it doesn’t affect me anyway, but I’d say we’ve had darker too. In all likelihood they’ll continue to chop and change.

I just would like a decent kit to possibly purchase is all . Not had one since the 90's. We have design by committee it seems, oh well. It doesn't affect me as I don't buy these things but it would be nice if they at least pretended to pander to the fanbase in some way.

1st - Claret with Blue Sleeves
2nd - White or Yellow with Claret and Blue diagonal Stripes (3 stripes if Adidas but doubtful)
3rd - Black or Dark Navy with Claret and Blue piping detail
GK Kit - Could not give less of a s**t

On that chart, the famous old 'Endsleigh' shirt is the nearest- colour wise- to this season's.

I am pretty sure if you’ve not bought one since the 90’s, over which time we were under local ownership and have had every conceivable shade of claret, “the Americans” won’t be caring a jot about whether they pander to you.
I would imagine it’s the young kids who nag their parents for a kit that they are interested in catering for - not a fan who might buy one every three or four decades if he approves of the shade of claret.
Re: Shirt colour for next season
Bugger me, not bought a kit since the 90s the has an absolute meltdown over a colour that people are struggling to tell much difference, and to top it off still slagging parker and the football off.
Need a bell end of the week award on this board.

I think the real question raised here is whether Superjohnnyfrancis has shown his arse on this thread as much as KRBFC did on his about Trent Alexander Arnold getting booed.

You literally slagged off the boring football on this thread. If that's not aimed at the coach of that football, who is it aimed atSuperjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:04 pmCan you find a post where I have slagged Parker off? All my posts are under my name, have a read.

Re: Shirt colour for next season
Assuming you mean last season's home shirt and not an arse, no I didn't. For reasons that have nothing to do with its colour and everything to do with the general lack of value for money inherent in just about all football shirts.
Not sure why that's in any way relevant, mind.

I know let's stick a great big sky blue V down the frontHahaYeah wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 7:05 pmI would rather we had unique colours rather than what we have copied off Aston Villa. Something that set us apart from them and West Ham and any other club for that matter would be great, not too different, but enough to be unique and recognisable worldwide.
That said I just think that last seasons kit is just a slight variance that we've had before a few times, I doubt there's a conspiracy by 'the Americans' about it, more's the pity IMO.

Wasn't a fan when last season's was first released but grew on me when I saw it and the sponsor less options are fantastic.
Can't remember a season where we've had all three kits be as nice as last season, the white one was my favourite but the home was nice with longside wrote in the shirt made it unique to the boring plain body with plain blue sleeves
