Mine crashed last night, but a reset seemed to sort it.

Re: Sky not working
I was watching the Charlton v Wycombe game last night when mine suddenly went off. I rebooted, got it back and then the same happened again.
Haven’t used it since but just switched on to check and all is ok.

Re: Sky not working
I had it go off and needed to reboot twice last night and once this morning. According to Sky the issue is now resolved.

Re: Sky not working
I was getting it on the neck for moving an HDMI lead from the back of the TV. I didn't realise I'd caused a national incident.

Re: Sky not working
We were watching something on Paramount+ via the Sky box when it went off around 9pm
Did the unplug and leave it, whilst we continued watching through the tv app. Switched it back on when we went to bed and was back working.
Tried it at lunchtime and it looks like it’s recorded what was scheduled over night

Absolutely the same here. Charlton didn't look good at all but Wycombe were clueless. What a strange man the Charlton manager is.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 12:37 pmI was watching the Charlton v Wycombe game last night when mine suddenly went off. Buggered up our recordings of Signora Volpe and Shetland. Went off 4 times, starting with the match, before we gave up. Unplugged both boxes overnight and no problems today. It was reported this morning that the problem was from their end.

Near 3days later and just received this text from Sky
We're extremely sorry if you experienced issues with your Sky Q services recently. These issues have been fixed. If you're still having trouble, please switch off your box at the mains for 30 seconds, then back on. For mini box issues, also reboot the main box.

I've just had another email from them apologising and compensating me with a free Sky Store Buy & Keep movie.
I hardly watch films - any recommendations?

Re: Sky not working
Some recent films I'd recommend:
Conclave - great film for 90% of the movie. Has a 'twist' at the end which annoyed me because the film was realistic to that point. (Please don't anybody discuss this, it's my view and if you discuss it, it could spoil the film for anybody who hasn't seen it). Not quite Deus ex machina, but silly beyond words. Still worth watching.
Anora - Excellent film about a stripper/sex worker/ exotic dancer/prostitute. Manages to be a drama, comedy and tragedy in three acts. Very aesthetically pleasing and superbly well directed and acted.
Heretic - Horror/thriller psychological thingy with Hugh Grant playing a man preying on two young Mormon girls. A fun watch, especially Hugh Grant.
Films I've got on my 'to watch list'
The Brutalist
A Complete Unknown

Re: Sky not working
I got the same email CT but can’t see how to claim it. The email says there should be a “your sky store gift on us” tile under the sky store options but there’s nothing under mine.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 9:56 amI've just had another email from them apologising and compensating me with a free Sky Store Buy & Keep movie.

Films wise Conclave was good.
I’d probably go for Brutalist though as I haven’t seen it. Long long film so sounds best to watch it in 2 or 3 sittings

Not sure if it will be the same, they have sent me same email and they did this previously. Last time I got this offer you had to click on the film you wanted once it was selected it they price changed from whatever it was to £0.00 and then said buy now.

Just tried that and it works
Thanks very much for that much appreciated
CT as said you just need to click into the film you want purchase and the price changes to zero - it references the gift on the screen.

You have to pick from the gift on us tile in sky store. There’s not much to choose from, although the Damned Utd is there.

As Pearcey has said there is now a gift on us tile with a limited number of films to choose from.
Re: Sky not working
I was more annoyed looking at the limited list of total dross that Sky are offering for free as a result of the outages, than I was at the outages. They would be better just saying sorry.

Btw if you ring sky and tell them that the service was down from 9.30pm last Thursday to when they sent their message as to how to fix it on Sunday then they should refund you something for loss of service. They have adjusted my next bill.
